We have to see if China follows through, and actually delivers.
If low altitude can be saturated with MANPADS, that makes land invasion extremely difficult for the USA as they can't guarantee air support for those formations.

In last 2-3 days, both NY Times and Reuters have reported Chinese help to Iran. And it makes sense. At the least, if one is cynical, Americans getting bogged down in yet another Middle East quagmire serves China well--only if one has a cynical viewpoint, that is!

US President Donald Trump says that the US is going to start "BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz".

In a lengthy new post on Truth Social, he says that "the meeting went well, most points were agreed to, but the only point that really mattered, NUCLEAR, was not".

He says that "at some point" an agreement on free passage will be reached, but "Iran has not allowed that to happen by merely saying, 'There may be a mine out there somewhere,' that nobody knows about but them."

In the same post Trump also says that he's "instructed our Navy to seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran", and that the US Navy is going to start " destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits".

"No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas," he says, adding "any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!"

"The Blockade will begin shortly," he says.

No reason for Iran to be hasty and hit USN ships for now. Trump is doing Iran a favor by extending the oil drought. As I have said all along, keeping the strait closed is Iran’s greatest weapon and can do what thousands of missiles cannot — damage the world economy.

In the meantime, Iran can route its oil thru Turkish pipeline. Sure in the meantime production falls and Iran exports less, but it is offset by the higher price of oil. A small price to pay in war to get a proper agreement.

Will Israel bomb the Iran/Türkiye pipeline in Iran ? I can see that happening now under the pretext of starving the world and Iran of the benefits of Iranian oil.

He appears to be the main driver, giving signals and support—without which even Israel would likely not take such steps.

Likely he will again nominated for Nobel peace prize, and again many countries will support it

You know the U.S lost 2 A-10s that day? Just cause you see a 15 sec video of Aircraft over Iran doesn't mean Iran is defenseless and has no MANPADS. Iran is Huge and its air space can be infiltrated. Especially by low flying aircraft flying through remote mountains. Iran has been producing its own MANPADS for decades. They even have supplied large numbers to the Axis of Resistance.

We already survived < 1m bpd oil exports before and worse things, up until now Iran is still exporting oil. My point is that you cannot claim nothing will leave or enter Iran just because of a naval blockade. That is simply not true.

Right.
Trump's statement is to put the naval blockade only on those ships which would pay the toll to Iran. So further economic strangulation of Iran is the next step, if implemented.
