Looks like the US strategy has been exposed.

-Iran gave the US a face saving way to exit the war when it was in serious trouble
- unless israel or us attack, any Iranian resumption of war will make Iran look like the aggressor.

What was the point or benefit for Iran?

Fighting is ongoing in Lebanon. The current truce allows "Israel" to concentrate on South Lebanon while the rest of AoR is constrained by the truce itself. South Lebanon needs all the help they can get.

You're giving the Ayatollahs too much credit by thinking their actions have to make sense.

Did the ceasefire make sense? We're back to the sitting duck position now, waiting for Israel and the US to resume the war when they choose to, while they have imposed a blockade on us. If we attack the GCC states or Israel in response to this blockade, we will be the aggressor. Brilliant, no?
 
you need to realize that this is not going to end as long as Bibi's trial is on going, he will kill as many innocents as it takes to postpone his trial, he is scared as hell of what is to come, you can see it from his face. even if Iran war ends he will start somewhere else.
