I don't understand this. Iranian govt was using its maximum leverage, by blocking the Hormuz, attacking GCC energy and US bases, activating the AoR and also firing missiles at Israel. It was time to utilize that leverage to get a deal.

What should Iranians have alternatively done ?

Continue the war until oil prices reached at least 150$

What were the americans going to do when they ran out of intercepters and stand off munitions, while facing economic ruin and worse of all military humiliation.

All Iran had to do was wait. Every single day the american position was deteriorating militarily, politically and economically.

What was the need for this mad rush for a cease fire? What did Iran gain?

Israel attacks other countries only on a rule if they can be present and future threat. Palestinian support is never a criteria Otherwise Israel must attack South Africa, & Spain and Qatar too. Those countries at diplomatic level and financial level are much ahead of Iran's support. As I already explained that Iran never attacked Israel when Israel for full 2 years converted Gaza into a rubble and did a genocide in front of Iran. Iran didn't do a thing.

Please have a factual discussion. The War Iran fought is solely because Israel consider Iran as a future threat because of Iran's nuclear program (most of which destroyed now) and its advancing ballistic missile capabilities and Iran is a sovereign country not under US control. It has nothing to do with Palestinians support. I am amazed I need to explain basics.

South Korea is gradually integrating into China's industrial chain. What can Japan offer us? We don't lack Japan's population and industrial capacity, we need resource-based countries more, such as Russia. China doesn't need to unite with Japan to deal with the United States. But Middle Eastern countries need to unite against Israel. The situations faced by East Asia and the Middle East are not consistent.

Again, stop being a threat to Japan's national security and maybe within a lifetime Japan won't need the United States bases.

however that doesn't give you an excuse to be a direct threat to their national security.

That price of $150 per barrel of oil would have badly hurt the countries that are currently helping Iran as well. Countries like Pakistan, China, Oman, Turkey, Egypt and then where would Iran be ? You cannot be completely isolated in this inter-connected world. The interceptor and standoff munitions situation hasn't changed either as the US cannot replenish them in a few weeks.

I think it was the right move for a ceasefire at this stage, to give talks, de-escalation and negotiations a chance. It makes Iran look like a rational actor that is only defending itself, from the Israeli/American warmongers. The energy shortage is still present in international markets and the price of energy will continue to go up, despite all the market manipulations by Mr Trump and financial institutions.

If the talks fail then obviously all parties may go back to fighting, with the scenarios of $150 per barrel oil and what will a humiliated and increasingly desperate US do still there.

What exactly are the mullahs afraid of? There is nothing worse than a full scale bombing and a naval blockade, except for a nuclear attack. Not possessing nuclear weapons is a foolish act that invites that worst-case scenario upon themselves. If war is inevitable, and if a naval blockade is inevitable, then Iran should possess nuclear weapons; that is the only way for the nation to survive.

A nuke is useless as deterrence if you can't launch it against the people who is fcking you.

And those people are safe and protected in USA mainland.

If middle east people start to nuke each other USA elite will be even happier, it's precisely what they want, impoverishment, destruction far from their borders.

But what we can expect? If people doesn't know the real reasons of Iran war, they will say all kind of nonsenses based in made in USA bullshit.
