It is true.
Also note: From Trump's 'Unconditional Surrender' demand some days ago to now Iran retains its missile program and inventory, probably getting some billion $$ back from its frozen assets, keeping Hezbollah in the equation, AND the ability to control the Strait of Hormuz.
Wait till the dust settles and see how Trump will be roasted even by the Right in America by the likes of John Bolton.
 
What is Iran getting out of this? It seems Iran is on the short end of the bargain, and with great loss of life and infrastructure? I thought they'd recover some with the hormuz toll, but doesn't look like it.

20 billiion$ to give up nuclear power?

Unless there's some secret deal that will put Israel at a disadvantage, it looks like Iran lost the war.

And maybe China too.

iran won the war by surviving and bringing us to the table.

South Korea was offered the benefits of an alliance with the West, giving them access to Western markets and technology. Iran will never be offered such an option as long as it is not on friendly terms with Israel. Iran may try its best to improve its relations with the United States, but without Israel, it will be futile. Anti-Israel sentiments are a core part of the current system's ideology and it will not change without a regime change.

Iran did have an economic boost after the Iraq-Iran war, particularly when Mohammad Khatami became the President and Iran decided to pursue a reformist approach to mend its ties with the West. It was working quite well for us but it didn't last long, unfortunately.

If USA leaves ME and control mad dog Israel, whole region will be peaceful and can get developed..including Iran.

All oill rich countries were destroyed by USA, NOT by Iran.
Israel wants to expand not Iran.

Why entertain a false narrative of bad Iran???

The amount of frozen Iranian assets exceeds $100 billion.
Any deal that doesn't guarantee full, non-reversible sanctions relief is absolute, undeniable treason.

It comes down to the negiotations. For Iran, getting rid of "all" primary and secondary sanctions is worth alot more than $100billion. A lot more.
 
Reasonable demands any deal should include:

- Total removal of the fabricated term "Arabian Gulf" in the US and CENTCOM and US schools and replace it with the real and historically approved Persian Gulf

- Unfreezing of all Iranian assets across the globe

- PGCC to pay reparations in cash and gold

- Total removal of sanctions, every single one of them to the last

- Long lasting non agression pact with the US and Israel with congress approval and UN recognition of a treaty

- US and western companies investment in Iran

- Total renovation of Iranian civilian fleet including sale of new aircrafts

- Sale of military equipment to Iran, including exempting Iran from CAATSA

- Foreign investments in Iran without pressure or sanctions, including letting Iran finish its projects with countries such as Pakistan

- Total permanent end of war on Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq via treaty recognized by the UN

Bonus demands:

- Arrest of Reza Pahlavi in the US and either bring him back to Iran or jail him in a maximum security prison inside the US

- Shutdown or total change of the US funded Persian speaking propaganda channels

Who says Iran cannot get the rest later ? A smart way to go about it would be a roadmap where Iran and the world (excluding Israel) fulfill mutually beneficial conditions and eventually all the $$$ are released, alongwith sanctions removal. Israelis will be left completely isolated.

The problem is the absence of legal guarantees for the non-reversibility of the US primary and secondary sanctions.

Iran and the US had a longstanding amity treaty, ratified by both sides in 1957. It didn't stop either of the sides to violate it repeatedly. As in the case of the US, the US can never be legally held accountable for violation of internationally accepted treaties as it holds the veto power in the UN Security Council.
