It’s bc idiocy and arrogance of US never ceases. Now, Iran doesn’t want another meeting good . Just before the “Peace talks” the US fires at on their ship and now reports coming out a 2nd Iranian vessel seized.You can’t trust anything US says in talks.

War is likely to start again soon

Because the U.S is stuck it will attempt to FORCE Iran to open the Hormuz, through violence

It will attempt to force Iran to accept the U.S's terms through violence


It will attempt to strangle Iran through economic sanction and blockade


The vast majority of the worlds countries could not resist, but Iran in turn can keep the Hormuz shut and because it's massive it has options including targeting U.S allies like UAE and Israel



Their is no backing off now

No point in second guessing or talking about mistakes in the past or leadership issues

Iran has to be prepared to fire back and use the ceasefire time to prepare tels, missiles and drones

And who can objectively blame them? They won the first round of fighting, which i think the US military understood as a foreign language it doesn't understand. US also faces more serious risks if it doesn't amiable end this war with Iran,because for one, it doesn't have and can't afford a war of attrition.
US already gave Russia, it's opponent in Euriasia,a huge bounty of $$ by unsanctioning its oil, at this critical stage in the Ukraine war.

For whatever reasons, US seems likely to lose both the Ukraine and Iran wars.

I think Iran got leverage by blocking the strait, it should have exchanged that with sanctions relief but US has already countered it by blocking Iran's ports and exports. So now that card is gone. Now US says we will lift blockade once Iran open up strait.

Iran is at war and has a valid security concern over any ships transiting Hormuz. They are correct to apply a toll to compensate that concern. Nations who cause greatest risk incur a higher toll. It is all quite logical AND legal under maritime law.

Spain is not at war and has no grounds to claim security concerns. But if Britain and Spain went to war over Gibraltar, you can be sure that Spain would start applying a fee on British vessels transiting!

Does not matter if Iran has not ratified UNCLOS. Iran cannot unilaterally charge Strait of Hormuz. If Iran can charge Strait of Hormuz unilaterally then Pak, Oman, UAE, Saudia, USA, China, Combodia anyone can charge Strait of Hormuz.
 
The Iranian ship seized from China was used to manufacture ballistic missiles from chemicals. Only a few hours remain until the ceasefire ends, and all hopes for negotiations are also crumbling.

However, if the war resumes, its intensity will be greater than before because China has now become a party to this war.
