The fact that Obama stood his ground for 2.5 years on JCPOA against bitter opposition by the Saudis and the Israelis tells something: It is not in the American interests to fight for Israel too much. Yes, Israel serves some purposes and served a lot more during the Cold War but that was decades ago. Now it is the Israeli Lobbies, the evangelicals, the Military Industrial Complex which are, against America's own interests, behind the unending wars in the Middle East. Even Europe was wised up now.
You guys can bookmark this post: If either Trump or Netanyahu is out of power today, this war will wind up or a strong Democratic majority in 2028 will make the Middle East a different place. The war on Iran is basically a personal war of choice and is happening because, tragically, two super Zionists occupy the offices in Tel Aviv and Washington!

The JCPOA got Iran to give up its Arak reactor, which if you are familiar with the plutonium pathway to nuclear weapons you would realize was the REAL nuclear weapons threat all along. Not Natanz or Fordow! Arak reactor could help build 10+ nukes a year via plutonium reprocessing. JCPOA was a trick to get Iran to give up its prized card in exchange for being able to sell oil more like it could from 1980-2007! Iran gave up SOMETHING to get basically what it already had before Obama era sanctions. No embargo lifting. No humanitarian sanctions lifting. No missile sanctions lifting.

Zarif and Saleh sold the Iranian people false goods and even claimed they didn’t pour cement in the reactor! America “promised” to assist Iran to redesign it, only to bomb it a decade later!

Iran’s economic conditions worsened after JCPOA when they realize they been duped and no foreign investment would come to Iran for fear of republicans coming to power and tearing everything up. Even among democrats it wasn’t popular but they fell in line since it was Obama’s signature foreign policy achievement.

That’s all window dressing. they know none of the votes matter or will go anywhere. It will take decades for political system in US to distance itself from Israel. If such a thing is possible.

Even in Iran you have factions within parliament that don’t support the AoR project or idea. Does that mean anything? Does anyone think within the short term Iran would drop support for Hezbollah? Iraqi PMUs?

Same applies with Dems doing these token votes to appease their uber liberal constituents (or in case of Michigan based ones it’s their large Arab populations).
