Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

The Americans are just buying more time to increase their military build-up in the region.
  • Israel's Goal: Destroy Iran.
  • America's Goal: Destroy Iran's energy economy to the point that the world shifts to importing oil and from North America. If other Middle Eastern energy economies get burnt in the process, oh well.
Remember Pakistan has recently trialed importing oil from the US while India has been importing oil from the US for years.

29/01/2026: Pakistan’s largest refiner mulls raising US crude imports to $1 billion as summer demand peaks: Arab News

05/01/2026: Crude imports from US up 92% in first 8 months of current fiscal: Times of India

The USA is never doing this Iran war, again, ever.

I am still shocked that Secretary Rubio announced that "The operation is over - Epic Fury,"
without achieving any of their war objectives:

(1) no removal of enriched uranium and elimination forever of Iran's nuclear program,
(2) no constraints on missile production,
(3) no end of funding for terrorists &
(4) no democratic regime change.

Epic Fury is going to be remembered as Epic Failure.

I think they are lying, like as always.
Don't look at what they are saying, look at what they are doing.
They still have huge numbers of military assets pointed at Iran and many more to come in future.
Feel like this conflict will stay on for a while.

The Washington Post main page. It is important to remember that America is, after all, a democracy where public pressure, smart politics, and electioneering have a significant role. But in this forum, too many are resigned to lazy ideas like the immutability of the American society and political system.
It is probably the most dynamic society in the world.

They're trying to find a way to do it perpetually without spooking the markets. But on this specific issue (and no other really), Tehran actually has used its geography wisely to the point where they have global commodity markets bent over a barrel. Do excuse the poor pun.

When did they withdraw?

US forces say they shot at an Iranian vessel in the Gulf of Oman

US Central Command says it shot at and disabled an Iranian-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.

In a post on social media, the US military says the tanker, called M/T Hasna, was attempting to sail to an Iranian port, in defiance of the US blockade.

After repeated warnings, the US shot at the vessel with a cannon gun on a navy jet, disabling it, the post says.

"Hasna is no longer transiting to Iran," they wrote. "The US blockade against ships attempting to enter or depart Iranian ports remains in full effect."

Agree with you. USA is anything but "unipolar". It's a good thing and it means there is still hope of finding reason amidst the quagmire of irrational unidirectional love for a puny settler colony that does nothing but drain American resources. I wonder what the founding fathers would have thought of their nation being repeatedly pimped out by Tel Aviv on short notice.

With this incident and the official attack on Beirut, is it safe to assume the 'fig-leaf' of a cease-fire is officially laid to rest!?

Andrew Neil - Twitter post......

President Trump trashed Barack Obama’s deal Iran as ‘the worst deal ever’ and junked it after he won the 2016 election. I wasn’t keen on it myself. But what we know of Trump’s peace plan contains striking similarities to Obama’s: sanctions lifted, frozen billions released and Iran capped at the same 3.67 percent enrichment level agreed to by Obama. Even then, I’m not sure Tehran is minded to agree. The regime thinks it has Trump on the run. And it could well be right. Everything I see, read and hear only reinforces my view that Trump wants to cut and run as best he can.

Well yeah it's either keep pumping into tankers or damage the wells. Once shut there's a window how long they can be shut before the oil inside rig pipes and valves coagulate.

Trump: “What happens is that line explodes from within. Both mechanically and in the earth, something happens where it just explodes, and they say they only have about three days left before that happens

he said this almost 2 weeks ago. stop embarrassing yourself.
