Iran needs to respond very hard. Americans want to replicate the Israeli model of ceasefires. If Iran doesnt respond effectively, these attacks will be normalized.

The US intercepted all the targets and responded by hitting Iranian missile/drone launch sites, C&C and ISR targets in Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island (US claim). US insists these were self defence strikes and not a resumption of the war.

The US is betting that economic naval blockade will cause mass unrest and will make the Iranian Government capitulate , as the Irans population was already before this conflict was unrest due economic damage by sanctions.

Houthis managed pretty large saturation attacks, without major success but they came close a few times, at a much further distance from their coastline as well

Dont believe claims of US and its Pets states completely.. According to them they were having 200% interception rates against Iranian missiles and Drones, only to be exposed by their own WSJ, CCN and CBS about 18 of their bases almost obliterated with close to 300 structures completely destroyed with billions of loses.. Be ready to hear stories like Bab ul mandab about how two sailors fell from board and died, or how wile evading missiles few planes fell from their Aircraft Career,

Navigable part of strait of Hormuz is just 10 km. Iran should spread mines all over the place except at the 3.2 km lane on the Iranian side.

Iranian state media says explosions in multiple Iranian cities

Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reports that "several explosions" were heard near the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas. It says the "exact origin and location" of the sounds is still "unknown".

Fars adds that its investigations show that there was "exchange of fire" between Iranian armed forces and "the enemy" with commercial parts of a pier in Qeshm - the largest island in the Gulf - being "targeted".

Meanwhile, Tasnim news agency says "several explosions" were heard near Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas.

It also says there is still "no exact information", but adds that "some sources" say the sounds are related to the operations of the IRGC Navy "to warn some ships about unauthorised passage through the Strait of Hormuz".

Explosions have also been heard in Tehran, local media says.

The US has not commented on the situation so far, and the BBC has not yet independently verified the reports.
