It would be a huge mistake for Iran to target Gulf energy infrastructure right now. As things stand, the focus is squarely on Israeli aggression, but striking regional neighbors like KSA would completely isolate Tehran. An attack on KSA would also force Pakistan to instantly drop its role as a neutral mediator and give full support to Riyadh. If Iran wants to hurt Netanyahu's government without triggering a major regional blowback, targeting Israel's own energy infrastructure is the only logical move.

Maybe not the KSA, but they can definitely go after the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait; and make the region and world economy suffer. They can persuade the Houthis to close Bab Al Mandab and further hurt the region. These are low-hanging fruits in my opinion and easier to do.

These steps will really hurt the region, the US and the world economy; but they won’t deter Israel.

To deter Israel, they need to have significant impacts on key Israeli infrastructure. They need to focus on achieving something they haven’t achieved yet.

Not to mention that parasites like Muqtada Sadr who leeched off Iran for years have openly called for disarming resistance groups in Iraq.

Besides that, Lebanon did not host forward bases of Israel. Iraq did. Also, Lebanon is not gaining billions of dollars from the Iran war while getting toll exemption for passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Hezbollah is fighting for its own survival ... they are not our proxy .

They started to fire rockets into Israel when the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28th. Before that, they had a half-functioning peace deal with Israel that even though Israel didn't fully honor it, but at least the Israeli forces weren't aggressively occupying more Lebanese territory every week while killing 300 civilians on a single day.

I agree that all of our allies suck, but at least Hezbollah stood with us when we were going down. I would say the Houthis of Yemen disappointed me the most. I expected a lot more from them.

An air base is not like some football field that you can destroy with a couple of successful hits. Iran can throw everything it has on the US military air fields in nearby countries and still that won't completely destroy them, maybe render them inoperable for a few days/weeks at best. Also, the US has +11 aircraft carriers for a reason.

Look at Iran's Mehrabad airport, for example. It has been hit quite severely multiple times in the last two wars between Israel, Iran and the US. It was operational before today's skirmishes, after all the bombings it had endured.

Nah.......these GCC airfields are all close by and Iran can lay down sustained barrages on them for days on end and once they get knocked out you go in via your proxies and take em over.

Take out the HAS's/ power/ water/ command/ control bldg's/ bunkers/ housing/ crater the runways......its over.

PMU's Houthi's can then be sent in to capture them.
