Tomorrow he can say the Iranians backed out and use that as cause to start the next round.

⭕️ The State Department has launched an investigation of Trita Parsi, co-founder of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft and the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC), and could seek to deport him, according to U.S. officials and documents reviewed by The Free Press.

Parsi, who holds a green card, is one of the most prominent U.S.-based critics of the war with Iran. He was born in Iran, grew up in Sweden, has lived in the United States for over 25 years.

A Trump administration official said Secretary of State Marco Rubio was taking “a hard look” at anyone whose work “furthers” the agenda of U.S. adversaries, invoking a provision of federal immigration law allowing the secretary of state to personally determine that a noncitizen’s presence compromises a “compelling U.S. foreign policy interest”—the same authority Rubio used in the ongoing effort to deport Columbia University protest leader Mahmoud Khalil.

Quincy’s CEO told staff and donors in April that the think tank was retaining an immigration lawyer and preparing a writ of habeas corpus “to have at the ready” if Parsi were suddenly detained.

The outlet that broke this story, The Free Press, has repeatedly published articles that amplify official pressure on critics of Israel, U.S. wars, and aggressive foreign policy, contributing to a chilling effect intended to deter others from speaking out.

OMG! Trita Parsi is a balanced analyst and doesn't shy away from criticizing the Iranian state in harsh words when appropriate.
But what this tells you is that not only the Green Card holders but also the Naturalized Citizens are safe in this country from arbitrary deportations. The most powerful forces with a chokehold on the Trump Presidency are not going to abandon a 150-year project got to waste as long Trump is the President. These kinds of immigration measures would absolutely not have happened if Kamala Harris was the President.

After threatening to "hit Iran very hard" and even seize Kharg Island, trump has taken another U-turn (I have lost count how many times trump has taken U-turns since he launched this war). Try to understand the big picture here:

Iran threatens to attack Israel if it hit Beirut. Israel hits Beirut and Iran, for the first time, hits Israel without being hit by Israel. Israel strikes back, and Iran strikes Israel again. trump reins netanyahu in--action paused.

Iran downs a highly sophisticated American Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. strikes Iran. Iran hits American bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. The U.S. hits Iran again. (They play us for suckers, says trump). Iran hits back with greater force targeting U.S. bases in the same three countries and announces that the Strait of Hormuz is closed to all traffic.

An angry trump, vows to "hit Iran very hard" again, and even threatens to take Kharg Island and the country's energy infrastructure. Within six hours, he takes a U-turn, saying he has paused the strikes and claims that Iran has approved talks--action paused again.

In the escalation dynamics, trump is taking one step forward and two steps backward.

War is business and there are lots of people who make filthy amount of money before/during and after the war, so if their greed has it enough then we may see some peace after all but if not then this peace deal circus will continue, among all parties the only country that seeks to have this conflict continue and expand is Israel, and majority of Americans understand this, but they are too afraid to speak out, some due to been fired from job or Govt revenge or some because they don't want to be called anti-septic.
