Trump maybe seeing the benefits of the Obama policy on Iran, which was bitterly opposed by Israel then. Of course we know, how the Israelis used Trump first term to destroy that policy. Criticize as much as one want to, but the JCPOA was eventually beneficial to Iran and harmful to Israel. Back then, Iran didn't have as many cards to play with and so they took a flawed agreement over continuing stagnant isolation.
