Do you think full scale war is imminent with possible boots on the ground?

Personally no. Trump is not foolish.

But clearly, USA can leverage immense air and naval power against Iran, which has already caused deaths this last week to Iranians. I know the war is always going to be asymmetric, but that force of arms could be devastating if it continues with purposeful intent.

I don't know if the periodic/intermittent spasms of economic pain applied by this "on-off" war can ever be sufficient to thwart the plans of Tel Aviv. I think bouts of economic harm to the RoW is a price Tel Aviv is willing to pay for now. They're maniacally entrenched in their philosophy.

All of this means there are only TWO ways out for Iran: to inflict enough casualties on USA to force a withdrawal, or to create PERMANENT SoH conditions that force a USA stand-down from seeking a military solution. Both those solutions require some degree of military success from Iran though against the USN (at the very least).

Except Dubai hasn't shut down even a bit. Was there few weeks ago. It didn't even felt that the area was under attack. Absolutely not even slightest sign of anything hit. Shining skyscrappers and busy roads. Investments, property market, services based economy everything is at same usual levels.

Tourism is for sure effected but the people who were residents of Dubai didn't left.

yes the UAE goes to great lengths to keep up appearances , including a media blackout and heavy investment in social media influencers. But the diplomatic, strategic and economic setbacks to it from the Iran war are un-deniable.

I understand you are trying to offer a counter opinion, which is okay, but let's be honest here. GCC people are largely lazy; they buy don't build.

They are hyper reliant on the US for their security and their own armed forces, although well-equipped, they largely lack an indigenous defense industry, relying and depending on foreign contractors to operate and maintain advanced platforms.

Historically their militaries have conducted nothing more than minor self-defense roles. As such they are simply not built or designed to function as a strong institution.

This is simply because their raison d'etre is to secure internal regime survival and border defense rather than projecting any form of expeditionary power.

There is a complete lack of Cohesion between the GCC nations, they may say things in public but don't sing from the same hymn sheet, even the touted unified military command - Peninsula Shield Force failed to achieve its enforcement and operational cohesion.

The outlook for the foreseeable in terms of GCC posture will be “active defense” plus enabling support for US-led operations whilst calling for "negotiations and deescalation" in public.

I'm not so certain the threat is fake. The killing of Soleimani is still a sore spot and now the Ayatollah.
