Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

This is going to be a long long war. Iran should fight this with intelligence and not emotion. There is a lot of Iranians who are emotional(and rightly so!!!!) and want a like for like thinking that is the correct approach to the war. The purpose and strategy (imho) is not to respond on a 1:1 basis as that will exhaust Iran's resources, and that strategy will cause Iran to fail this war in the long run as the USA has unlimited resources and Iran's are limited due to sanctions(this is a reality..) and economy.

The purpose is to understand there is a strategic chessboard here, where the current stage is now is on "who controls the straits". The Americans want to remove Iran's control of the straits. Iran, needs to maintain that control at minimum cost in this stage, so that for the next stage of this strategic war, Iran still has resources to fight that next stage. Iran should do what it is doing, i.e. cause global economic chaos to force pressure on the world, and selectively and surgically take out parts of the USA infrastructure in the region with each round and stop USA's attempts to exert control over the straits. Iran will take some heavy blows, but that is the reality of the asymmetry and despite the visuals and optics, Iran is still winning the battle of "who controls the straits".

Once Iran wins this battle, the Americans may attempt to come back with another battle, ie a land invasion of some sort.

I do think the core Iranian war fighting military strategists of this war are being far more cold, calculating and clinical in their decisions and this is massively frustrating the USA right now and the civilian strikes are a reflection of that.

This is game theory of war, at its extreme that we are witnessing.

Iran is not getting trapped in the theatrics of war that some here want, but more objective based.
Completely agree. Iran has few cards to play. It must play them with extremely calculated discretion. Their best bet is surely to enforce some form of de facto control over the Strait and to guard its islands in the Gulf. In fact, there seems to be little else it can do. Iran cannot totally militarily defeat USA so it has to do enough economic and supply chain harm in the SoH to convince USA that their bombing runs won't win the war for them either.

It is going to be a long one.

Pakistan defense deal is a defensive pact, not offensive

It is supposed to be activated if Saudi Arabia is under unprovoked attack or invasion

it is not supposed to cover Saudi's a** if they attack or invade another nation

Well, we can word it anyway we want, if Iran starts lobbing BMs at Riyadh and Pak does nothing that is the end of that....

All previous reports of China supplying Iran in the middle of a war have proven to be incorrect, and I suspect this one will be too.

There is no evidence that China has provided any radar & air defense equipment to then, or now... This twitter post handle is unreliable on top aswell..
This is according to Iranian opposition

In any case I will delete it.

That is Keir Starmer for you... I guess us "Brits" will have to be careful in how we phrase our comments going forward, the same as we with the local population in Southern Lebanon who defend their land, and home from foreign invaders...

Yup, now even expressing a positive opinion of them can get you 14 years in jail.

Her name is Shabana Mahmood and is of Pakistani origin, effectively serving the colonialist/racist policy of the UK, same country that has put misery on Pakistan and India

How can these persons live and sleep with no shame?

Are they going to teleport? Because last time I checked, Syria and Jordan are both in the hands of people who would not allow us to pass through their territory. Besides that, your answer to a war of this scale is to fight like in World War I? What are you going to recommend next? Trench warfare if the US starts to invade our southern territory?

I can see Iran wage a land war, into Iraq if the Americans use the Kurds to attempt to invade Iran to liberate Iraq from the USA occupation as the ongoing USA occupation poses a significant threat to Iran.

They may struggle without airpower though.

When a large number of determined warriors decide to invade another countries and march through them to their targets then human history shows there is no stopping them: They march through and kill or be killed. The national boundaries are human constructs.
Israel's biggest weakness is being prone to relentless projectiles fired into it; the terrain of both Syria and Lebanon adjoining Israel offers opportunities for the projectiles. I think the recent war with Hezbollah has caused significant displacements and disruption of lives in northern Israel. And I think Iran's last card would be to use its large determined population to take the war to Israel if Iran gets totally desperate. I don't foresee a World War One like warfare--more like guerilla forces and militias.

I am very speechless these days

We have a foolish reformist government that turned a won war into a defeated one

Easy, they had many of their bases and refinaries bombed, granted some of them were targeting US assets but not all. I would say compared to others Saudis have shown much restraint.

Also teaching them "a lesson" will pretty much drag in Pakistan
No easy about it, they just bombed Yemen in a pathetic failed attempt to prevent an Iranian civilian plane from landing in Sana’a.

They declared war on Yemen for nothing, since the plane landed safely in Hodeidah anyway.
