Sounds like a drone hit it unless I’m wrong assuming it was a coastal boat a cruise missile wouldn’t have left several injured

Iran shut down because it stopped the flow... it had the casus belli to do so because ...
UNCLOS ALREADY allows 12 nautical miles of territorial waters. Hormuz is 21 miles... these are territorial waters between Oman and Iran... that served uninterrupted, unencumbered as international trade routes.

US created a security situation that made Iran close them... too hard for you... then just move along. Oman was to negotiate passage post the final deal between US(aggressor) and Iran(aggrieved). US threatened Oman and started the southern corridor outside of the one agreed in the MoU where Iran was to allow ships to pass.

Don't bother if that didn't go down your throat.

Economic pressure is secondary... US navy is keeping a distance. The fifth fleet is evacuated. A few instances to transit vessels ended up with missiles flying and was not attempted.

It still hasn't... the oil flow and transit of commercial vessels under the new regime puts Iranian interests first.

See I agree I hate people think using nukes is an easy answer even if Iran is able to produce such weapons in such short amount of time and let’s say in a few months a dozen or so and they are the first ones to use it that will see Iran gone off the face of the map in less than a hour

I see you and others are still baying for an eye for an eye strategy.

How is that possible given the massive disparity in defence spending?

Faced with that massive disparity - you only have two choices:

1. Become a vassal state like all your bordering neighbours and beyond.

Or

2. Fight a patient asymmetric war. Yanks obviously think they will win the long game. So did the Mongols.

As I said from the beginning, Iran just needs to hold for two years. Whoever succeeds Trump will not continue this war. This is analogous to the Vietcongs timing out LBJ.

Iran’s strategy is to time out Trump whilst most here want instant gratification.
