Oman is a vassal state facilitating murder and mayhem on Iran.

LOL. Do you wish to apply to same standard for legitimacy to the present map of the world, or just to the few countries you wish?

I do agree Iran is an ancient country and civilization, relatively speaking. But that does not negate any other's countries to the same rights, at least based on your selective logic above.

Therefore, your rationale to justify Iran's acts while denying similar rights to others in the region is merely hypocritical.

I want to apply that standard at least to the ones facilitating genocides!!!

Funny how some people do not see their double standards.

The US is attacking Iran because they consider Iran to be a threat to, wait for it..., Israel!

So, not only the US invaded two countries over 9/11, countries that had almost nothing to do with planning or coordinating the attack, but they are attacking countries because they're deemed a threat to some other country.

Iran's responses to the current wave of attacks, that are steadily decreasing its abilities to attack shipping in the region, do not seem to make sense to me, but I am sure they have a plan whose wisdom escapes my limited understanding.

The results will tell us whose strategy is working out better in meeting their goals.

All the US strikes are focused on southern regions of Iran. It is crystal clear that a ground invasion is being considered.

Maybe the US plans to carve a new country or two out of Iran?

Yeah, it’s not possible to reconcile with the MOU wording, at least during the first 60 days.

Or the fact that Oman has every right to do whatever it wants with its waters for whatever reason it sees fit, by law. Even by the MOU Iran would have needed Oman's agreement on whatever future it saw for the Strait. But since it is not directly in the interest of Iran, Oman is now the devil for doing exactly what they have been defending for Iran.

The US out played Iran on the Strait in the MOU, dick move but well played and well within the norms of geopolitics. Someone in Iran then overreacted and put all the rest that they had fought for and achieved in jeopardy.

They have hypersonic anti ship missiles from china. And cruise missiles as well.

I guess the anti-ship missiles are not good enough to overcome US naval defenses. Trump has mentioned the Lincoln carrier group fending off attacks many times.

I think the last time Iran managed to hit a US ship was using an Exocet back in the 1980's.

Such as, confusing a thought so childish it is not worth contesting to somehow contradicting incorrigible geopolitical principles.

What is clear is that one does not win wars by assuming a moral high ground.


Anyways, I do not think anyone benefits from fragmenting Iran, so that is a possibility that remains highly unlikely.
