I am getting tired of Prof. Pape. Seems too low for an American professor from a great university to paddle his theories about 'escalation trap'. Doesn't he ever teach some actual coursework?! He could learn from Prof. Jefferey Sachs about humility and careful wording.
But not saying Prof. Pape's ideas are out of question. Just sick of his self-marketing.

Prof sachs is the best, always a treat to hear his opinions.I am getting tired of Prof. Pape. Maybe he was objective at first to build credibility and a following so he could then use that to create the image that Iran = Isis. How else can this be explained? The most effective liars tell the truth most of the time.He is having his 15 mins of fame. But I watched his videos in the first weeks of the war. And he was accurately predicting the war would go on for some time while everyone in the news thought it would be over very quick (either Iranian capitulation or ceasefire) and even users on this very board that now act like experts were saying Iran was finished after the first week.
He’s run out material since then, but his core thesis is right — Trump will escalate to not appear weak and Iran can match him. Trump has no good cards to extract himself from this conflict without paying some type of price.
Another one of his early war predictions was that Iran would become a nuclear weapons power within a years time. That prediction remains to be seen if it turns out to be correct.
