At this stage, imho - Iran would do well to reject any ceasefire and push the USA closer to its uncomfortable place and remove some of its economic safety buffers. That will remove some options for the USA to try and come back for another nibble at Iran.

The deaths of these US soldiers will put political pressure on trump, you could say it could also pull him further into the war. But this is a very unpopular war apart from his minority MAGA mob, most people in the US are against this war.

Also what this shows is when Iran carries out surprise attacks it can achieve a military goal in destroying aircraft and killing US personnel. To me it looks like the Iranians have been holding back allot even now.
