They didn’t strike for the same reason Iran didn’t invade Afghanistan after they beheaded a bunch of diplomats and their family in the mid 90’s…..it is more headache than it’s worth.

Hitting Ukraine doesn’t change the realities on the ground there when Russia has been beating up Ukraine every day for 4 years. It would invite reprisal attacks and Ukraine can fire 100 drones a day at Iran.

So instead, Ukraine said they won’t target Iranian ships any longer and Iran decided to avoid escalation. The question becomes will Ukraine honor this?

Iran will be in a VERY tricky spot if Ukraine attacks another ship.

The problem is that this is another low for our deterrence.

If a country like Ukraine which is hardly even a middle power can target our civilian vessels and kill an Iranian national, even accepts responsibility and boasts about it without even apologizing to us, and doesn't even pay a penny to us, then we have no deterrence and we're really at the mercy of other countries in the world.

This is a bad precedent. A terrible one. Expect more countries to try us in the future.

Only a fool would argue that Iran should get into an active shootout with a proxy in Europe that can't exist without being a pure proxy.

And if Ukraine does, Iran will have to respond the way it did in the PG region: shoot at the people BEHIND the proxy, not the proxy. Hit some bases in Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania. RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone call on Monday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss relations and the latest developments in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the call, the two leaders reviewed ties between Saudi Arabia and Turkiye and explored ways to strengthen cooperation across a number of fields, SPA added.

They also discussed regional developments amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and the security situation in the Red Sea.

President Erdogan reaffirmed Turkiye’s condemnation of attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on ships in the Red Sea and expressed his country's full support for Saudi Arabia.

The Turkish leader also welcomed the establishment of the multinational maritime defense coalition led by the Kingdom, expressing hope that it would succeed in protecting international shipping and achieving its objectives.

Saudi crown prince is just not a natural leader. This is what you get when some kid successor of a family is put in charge. Leadership skills are earned through experiences, resilience, exposure to adversity, high intelligence, etc.... You cannot just put people that aren't leadership worthy into such positions

He doesn't know what his vision is or what he wants to do. He doesn't actually know how he wants to approach Iran.

I don't trust Axios garbage paper at all but there may be some truth to him calling for de-escalation of situation because like I said he's not leadership material.

Even someone like Sisi is more of leadership material even if you don't like his type of leadership he has his vision and came from the bottom and worked his up in the military.

This means there are disagreements on how to approach the conflict and people like MBS that were previously more confrontational about Iranian regime are not actually ideologically motivated and can change their positions in a minute which makes them unreliable as leaders to their nations and to their allies

And a war like this should've never been started if there isn't commitment to fight it out. If Israel wants to take it on and bear costs of war it can fight it itself who is stopping them?

Some of these Arab leaders were hyping up a showdown with Iran but never prepared for it. Seems the plan we will see US and Israel take charge. Particularly USA. No plan B of any sort.

Some of them like Qatar and Oman did see that they don't want a showdown and want mutual cooperation in the region. Oman is closer to neutrality and mutual cooperation.

Problem now is push came to shove and they don't know want they want to do. Israel and US are bullying them by throwing them into a situation they can't bear clearly but at same they have themselves to blame for putting incompetent families in charge of their nations.

You don't need to fire anything at Ukraine. IRGC appears to be running the show and is directing their operations effectively. I've been impressed by how they have stuck to a consistent policy now. It makes sense because 40+ years of work the US and Israel came to halt or destroy and IRGC basically said you committed to something big and dangerous and we're not letting anyone off the hook easily even if we go down we may bring others down as well.
