Trump's rear end is cooked in the midterms if Iran keeps this up.

Yes it hurts Indonesian economy as it will enlarge the subsidy for our gasoline

But as human and Muslim, I do care with Iranian people.

Iranian hardline dream is to end the war by their hardline approach, they will keep doing that because that approach already become the ego and their hardline narratives. Their narrative and power may lost if more pragmatic approach by the opposite power in Iran are successful.

Previous MOU deal is the win of pragmatic Iranian, this is why they sabotage it with launching missile to the oil tanker wanting to pass the strait

The hardline doesnt want lost power in Iran and they will sacrifice Iranian lives, Iranian economy, Iranian future for that
This is a wrong understanding of the situation brother.

This war was forced upon them.

Exactly, China's world doesn't exactly mainly revolves around Iran or Iran war as some members like to see. China has its national interests and priorities.
China does support Iran and has put its neck out there for Iran but will also chase after their own interests too like every nation does.

Its in Chinas interest to have the strait open for business but China is not crying about it either. India who has significantly closer geopolitical relations with Iran threw Iran under the bus first chance they got. But of course no one talks about superpower motherland betraying Iran

Isn't that the whole point of ethnic cleansing and genocide? to reduce the population of a particular group of people in a region?
Yes, but imagine, jew never on this land but appeared from Europe. But how long they will hold the ground !!!!!... a so called Zionist state always on the state of emergency.

On the other hand China is supporting Iran with dual use materials and are not abiding by the US sanctions/blockades. Who else is doing that besides China?

Can you show me the last time a Chinese tanker arrived at Kharg or Jask? Chinese ships are now using Oman route and are being rejected more and more by Iran due to this tense situation.

The China glazing on this forum is hilarious. China hasn’t done a major anti imperialist move against the West since Mao died. If anything they have fully embraced western imperialism and built their economic growth engine on it for last 40 years.

Sure, Now they are transitioning to domestic consumption economy because western companies began moving more operations to Vietnam and India due to political situation. But China still needs the West and vice versa. China’s window to confront the West is also dwindling as their population is rapidly aging and dying. So China’s window to confront the west in any meanginful way is the next 25 years maybe less.

I doubt any menaognful confrontation will happen under Xi. He will avoid confrontation at all costs just like Khamenai did. Looks like it will be up to the next Chinese Chairman to set a new course.

Put its neck out for Iran? Like supporting UN Security Council resolutions for decades against Iran?

The only reason China even bought Iranian oil was because they would get 10–15 dollar per barrel discounts versus other grades of oil. It was too profitable to pass up. Now that Iranian oil is trading a premium, they have cut imports.

China’s Iran oil imports make less than 10% of daily consumption.

China has far more business ties with Pakistan, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey then it does with Iran. Iran is just one of many countries China does trade with. There is no special treatment here. Both sides distrust the other to expand ties in a meaningful way.

Simply put, China's national goal or policy now and has been for decades is not to intentional confront the US or West. China is not seeking world hegemony or domination as the US does. China just will fight be it in war for its core interests when they are violated. China's days of supporting revolutionaries outside China even it meant directly confronting the US in wars is long gone. To some people, this might be disappointing, but face it, China of zealot Mao era is long gone and won't be back. China is a pragmatic country for some time.

Aren't there 10s of millions of barrels of Iranian oil sitting on Asian shores? Which China is buying piece by piece? Or anybody else for that matter since Asia is starving of oil?

I don't think you know how China works man. China isn't confronting the West, China is waiting for the West to die demographically, economically and politically. China is watching the american empire go to white minority status soon. China is waiting for US bond market to explode and de dollarisation to happen, China is watching end of petrodollar and trades with Central Asia/Russia in Yuan/local currency and does that even with GCC countries. China is waiting for 40trillion debt and hyperinflation to collapse American AI bubble which America + alliies spent tens of trillions while China has spent 1% of that and has kept the pace. China is watching the West descend into political and social chaos and break down while waiting and building technological dominance. China might have gradually ageing demographics but China is leader of robotics and AI and that will plug any gap as well. This is what China is working on and building while watching the west collapse demographically, economically (ponzi scheme) and politically while:

China leads in 69 out of 74 critical and emerging technologies tracked by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) Critical Technology Tracker. [1]

Key Findings

    • Research Dominance: China holds a commanding lead across the vast majority of global high-impact research fields, particularly in defense, space, energy, and advanced manufacturing. [1, 2, 3]
    • Monopoly Risk: ASPI's data indicates China is moving toward a near-monopolistic position in foundational tech domains, with key areas like AI hardware, accelerators, and biological manufacturing categorized as high monopoly risk. [1, 2]
    • Leading Institutions: The Chinese Academy of Sciences ranks as the world's top research institution across a large portion of the tracked technologies. [1]
    • US Standing: The United States leads in the remaining 5 to 8 technologies (such as neuroprosthetics and certain quantum computing areas) and retains a strong edge in employing top-tier global research talent. [1, 2, 3]

China is far far smarter than Iran leadership and thinks in 5d chess terms compared to Iranian leadership that thinks in terms of missiles. China dominants so many technological and supply chain sectors that they have become untouchable. We stuck our neck out and did not even abide by US sanctions which every other country in the world did. You might not appreciate it but the Iranian leadership does.
