The most important ally is the GCC because they control petrodollar which allows US currency to be default global reserve (when US loses this position no one will replace due to multipolarity). US has to be forced out of the middle east otherwise they simply dissolve and crumble without petrodollar and people buying their bonds (now people selling their bonds too).

Even not looking at the current middle east issue, america is already facing massive debt 40tn plus, massive demographic changes moving towards white minority and of course massive political and social issues. Iran has voluntarily lost this war since June. Iran acts like it’s in a border skirmish with Azeribajian and not an existential war.

They completely misread Trump and how little he cares about Republicans losing the mid terms. Trump is the most selfish man on planet earth.

They also overestimated how much they could close the Strait of Hormuz with just threats and words and occasional drone strikes.

It’s clear they are afraid of escalation outside of random “temper tantrums” (see Jordan base attack). Even the Jordan Base attack was pretty similar to their response to Solemani assassination in 2020. So overall, the Iranian playbook is not working and it seems Mojtaba like his father is content with just becoming squeezed till his country collapses.
