Those operations required more than 600,000 troops deployed away from their bases and into hostile territory. None of those three factors has been present in the war against Iran.It depends on how the measurement and reporting is being done. People die in non-combat related incidents in combat zones. Vehicle rollovers, training exercises, etc.
Editing to add: during Shield / Storm, the US suffered as total of 386 deaths. 151 were direct combat related. The other 235 were non-combat related.
The cause of non-combat related deaths? Accidents, illnesses, heat-related, other environmental factors.
Perhaps that is the situation here.
Any extrapolation based on the current situation is unrealistic.
The reality is that they have taken military personnel with no family and falsified death certificates.
In any case, it is something we will find out once this administration leaves power (if that is even possible).
