Israel, Russia and US are always the only powers in the modern era with killer instincts, no fear of death or ending the world and zero fear to escalate to the max. These three are also much more religious than East Asian powers, Western European powers. Middle Eastern powers/theocracies lack the weight, influence and military strength to initiate wars against these powers and are always either the targets, victims or vassals of these three (in this case just two - US and Israel).

US and Israel are also both economically, politically and militarily powerful and influencial globally. Xi and China + Chinese generally are extremely afraid of war and confrontation. Immortal is 100% right about China being capable but completely 100% ball-less cowards in the sense of never wishing to escalate or bring things to the max. Chinese people have extreme fear of death.

Modern Chinese leaders and children are so afraid of even losing material status and wealth let alone their lives. China will always avoid war and western powers know this very well and know they can always push China around quite far and to quite an extreme and unfair degree. This has always been true throughout history and western and Israeli elite classes are cunning, learned people unlike their general population. China may have all the strength in the world but a mental, psychological weakling.

Russia without the strength will jump into existential wars without a second thought. If stupid, at least it's somewhat respectable. Iranian leaders aren't much better than Chinese ones. Absolute fear of what the west can and may do to them. Chinese leaders enjoy unimaginably lavish lifestyles. Do you think they will risk China's build up for war against crazy people who are convinced they are "God's chosen ones" and will go to heaven? Zero chance.

The 25 year Strategic Deal Iran signed with China was in March 2021, 6 years after Iran signed JCPOA!

I've worked with a lot of Irani engineers over the years in the oil n gas/ minerals n metals/ process plants/ refineries projects in various countries and what you say about the Chinese is unfortunate but true.

Don't want to bad mouth our Chinese friends here, but just reality and facts.

Main issue has always been not meeting their contractual obligations on production/ deadlines/ milestones/ schedule and failure of extraction/ processing technology/ substandard equipment/ workmanship. Iran went thru hell with China during the Ahmadinejad era.

Understandably why Iran refuses to pursue its almost half a trillion proposed BRI project MOU it signed a decade ago now.

Irans had a bad experience with China and its unfortunate but true.

The new issue as of today is the near $50 billion, quite possibly multiple times that amount of unpaid oil n gas monies owed by China to Iran.

It will continue building the strength so that wars against China will become pointless and an absolutely futile stupidity even for those with no brains. Wars will not even be initiated by China or the sides opposing China. Even today, the US cannot fight conventionally against China unless they want to lose their entire military and economy. And yet China will not lash out. Sure it's not being pushed to lash out but even pushed, it will bide its time and win without a shot.
