I am not saying this system is “correct”, but it is what it is. If there is a viable alternative to this system, that’s another matter, but there isn’t. If you had China and maybe Russia and other world powers actively going against this system, then it might have been different. There’s no such thing as the “international rules based order”.
That’s a fantasy.
There’s the Judeo Christian world order. Underpinned by the Dollar and it’s financial transaction system called SWIFT.
However, there’s three problems with this:
1. You have to store your reserves in US treasuries. Thus you become US’ lender whether you like it or not.
2. To be a participant you have to be neutral or be an active participant in the genocide of Palestinians.
3. If you aren’t a participant then the Judeo Christians will wage ruthless economic and military wars against you. E.g. Cuba, Venezuela and now Iran.
Disagree with this overly idealised interpretation. No military can totally extricate itself from the economic and (more broadly) civilian areas it is tasked with defending. This does not constitute "human shielding", particularly when certain enemies will themselves intentionally target civilians and economic installations.
Barracks may well be (and are) located inside cities also, to defend those cities and also to react rapidly to counter other threats (civil disorder, natural disasters etc). Are those barracks commanders suddenly guilty of "human shielding"?
Should Iran or Pakistan or anybody not counter the threat even when it is right on top of a city centre?
I disagree. A Zionist Iran would have been of far more value to US/Israel than a balkanized one. Just imagine the amount of power projection an unsanctioned Iran with access to western tech could do for US and Israeli interest.

This is the problem Iran faces, it is too emotional and looks at everything from a moral, zero sum perspective. International affairs are more nuanced and complicated.
Cuba and Venezuela are failed states. I don’t think Iran wants to face the same fate these 2 countries are facing.
You’re missing the point sadly. You have to play to win, and for everyone in your opposition to lose.Cuba and Venezuela are “failed states” because of US embargo.
US calling them failed states is like pushing someone down the stairs then calling them a “bit clumsy”.

You point is like a broken pencil. You’re missing the point sadly.
As China deals with the US Judeo Christian World Order and the global economy, even China could be classified by Iran as opposition
Certain individuals are morally outraged by Pakistan for reasons completely unrelated to the topic being discussed in this thread. It is a default setting unfortunately for some. You’re missing the point sadly. You have to play to win, and for everyone in your opposition to lose.
As China deals with the US Judeo Christian World Order and the global economy, even China could be classified by Iran as opposition.
Yet, Iran is heavily dependent on China for its long term economic survival.
These two things cannot be reconciled.
It’s time we stop being morally outraged by Pakistan or any other nation, and start viewing things from a pragmatic, realistic viewpoint.
