Heightened 'electronic interference' of ships on Strait of Hormuz​

There is increasing "electronic interference" against commercial shipping in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, according to UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The arm's-length agency of the UK Ministry of Defence acts as a bridge between commercial shipping and the military.

It says it's received multiple reports of problems with the tracking system used by ships, known as the Automatic Identification System (AIS), which is designed to allow them to mark their positions.

Around 20% of global oil supplies travel through the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow body of water off Iran's coast that links the Persian Gulf with the rest of the world.

"The levels and intensity [of electronic interference] inside the Gulf are having a significant impact on vessels positional reporting," the UKMTO says in an advistory.

The agency is urging ships to exercise more caution whilst navigating the area and did not name the source of the increased interference.

Iran extends cancellations of flights in and out of country​

Iran's aviation authorities say flight cancellations will be extended to 02:00 local time on Tuesday (23:30 BST Monday), state-controlled media reports.

Iran's airspace has been closed to commercial flights since last week.

Israel's military says that it has achieved "full aerial control above Tehran", as Israeli jets use Iranian airpsace to strike targets in the country.

Poland to evacuate dozens of citizens from Israel in coming days​

“I assume that we will be ready in the next few dozen hours, and the evacuation will only apply to those people who are stuck in Israel as tourists or on short-term stays,” Henryka Moscicka-Dendys told a news conference.

She says the evacuees will first be transported overland to Amman in Jordan before flying to Warsaw, due to the closure of Israeli airspace.

Israel claims to have destroyed a third of Iran's missile launchers​

More now from the IDF's Effie Defrin, who says Israel's military has destroyed more than 120 missile launchers – a third of the total number Iran possesses – since it launched its initial attack late last week.

Defrin says the air force destroyed more than 20 last night alone, "minutes before" they were used to send missiles towards Israel.

He says Israel also launched a wave of attacks targeting roughly 100 military targets in Isfahan in central Iran, deploying about 50 fighter jets to strike missile storage facilities, launchers and command centres.

Eight people killed overnight in Israel, officials say​

Israel says eight people were killed overnight by Iranian attacks on residential districts in Tel Aviv, Haifa and other cities. The total number of people killed since Friday stands at 24, according to the Israeli PM's office and Israeli media.

Health officials say nearly 300 people have been admitted to hospital.

Iran says more than 200 people have been killed there since Israel started the conflict on Friday.
