Strait of hormuz will be closed if US dares to attack, same should be done for Suez, Bab-al-mandab. Red sea and Persian gulf are no more welcome for yankees and their ships.
Hopefully Iraqi brothers join this historical battle, it's now or never, be part of the glorious battle.
If the enemy attacks, it can no more return to settle in persian gulf region. Their bases will be flattened.

They generally, say closing straits would be a very bad move for Iran as they they will turn great powers against them. They also say "Iran tried to close straits in Iraq-Iran war and that ended badly for them". (I don't know the details on that)

They also say that closing the strait done by laying mines on the straits as a reaction freight prices sky rocket, most of the ships don't dare to enter this region.

However, they say US is experienced on this, they (or their allies ) monitoring straits, any Iranian mine laying ship would be hit the moment they leave their ports before begining to lay mines.

I don't think, anyone would want the total collapse of the government at this point. ISIS emerged from the collapse of the Iraqi Government. You can't know what will emerge if Iranian government collapses.

If i was a US official, i would want a soft regime change, keeping Iran intact but with a softer goverment that is okay with the cooperation to the US.

Israeli citizens are better prepared for war and are well supported by their government and private agencies. I can't say the same about Iranian citizens.

If you are counting on demoralizing the average Israeli citizen through Iranian missile strikes then don't bet on it.
