Good points, at the risk of going off-topic, China was allowed to develop post 1980 onwards by the West because they thought a developed China would naturally move towards democracy and the West. That naivete was exposed as nonsense and hence you see the new aggressive Western posture against a newly empowered China forty years on.Asking doesn’t matter. @gambit is right, the US didn’t care. And why should it. It is enjoying the fruits of its labor. It builds the world to its will after WW2. Patrols the world’s oceans. Ensures free trade and funded the green revolution of the 1960s.
If other nations don’t like what the US has done, they have to accept the world is currently what it is and work hard to build up their countries to shape the world of tomorrow. Be a part of human advancement. Look at what China has done since 1978. It shifted from Mao’s revolutionary mindset to a pragmatic, bind your time and hide your strength approach.
Even if our countries quiet focus on development, they will never be allowed to develop beyond a certain level to ever rival Israel or the West. Still worth trying.
