When the time was right Iran should have gone nuclear. I am afraid that even if Iran wanted to go nuclear today, it would be very difficult. Nevertheless, negotiations are on their way and Iran probably will have to abide by the new agreement.

Well, independent reports (confirmed by both the US and Israel) suggest that Iran is still in possession of 440 kg of 60% HEU.
So, maybe there's a way out. We still need to enrich it further to 90% and then convert it into uranium metal. Quite hard to do it without getting detected, but doable.

Thanks for verifying. It's just that it often seems like an irrational association so trying to figure it out. Rationality can be addressed through confidence building measures but irrationality is harder to tackle.

I have a hard time understanding why the IR does what they do.
I mean they had already tried this so-called "retaliation" once after Trump assassinated Gen. Soleimani. And not only it didn't work (as expected), but it made Trump move towards actual war with Iran.

Possible if true. Judging by the response of the Iranian leaders I am inclined to believe that priorities lie elsewhere now. The president wants to return to the negotiating table.
