Maybe they need to think about a "dead hand" type of setup whereby in case of another attack they are able to launch 500+ missiles in one day?

No, because East Asians had the capability to finish the war. We have no interest in perpetual wars. Once in a war, we like to fight it to the conclusion, instead of being constantly distracted by ceasefires.

Actually, China had similar experience as the current middle east before. The ruling government always sought for some external influence to achieve some kind of ceasefire with Japan. It didn't end well. Japan just matched on.
