Iran air defence hit an F-35! Someone said it was a "Mobin" SAM, which one is that?

Hi,

If old members remember---it was @Khafee and me that the stealth will be targetted thru IR sensors---. That comment was longtime ago.

Now why did the F-35 not crash---first---it is a big aircracft---and the warhead on the IR missile is small---maybe around 20Kg.

If you understand this much---now let us get to the 3 F15's shot down---in kuwait.

All of you saw videos of this aircraft coming down pretty much intact---.

This should confirm that those 3 F15's were shot down by the IR missile---a short range missile at that---with the warhead approximately around 20Kg warhead---.

And not by long range SA missiles that have a much much heavier warhead---like the HQ9B with around 200KG warhead---.

Why did the F15's crash and not the F35---that is debatable.

The Kuwaiti shootdowns were from the rear, and affected the F15 control surfaces as teh missiles tried to go up the engine exhaust. The F35 shoot down from below and the front, where it did not affect the control services etc ( imho ). Different aspect shot.

And the Kuwaiti shot was from a much shorter distance---like 3-4 miles behind.
