Iranian Air Defence Systems | News and Discussions

Iran should work with Russia to get licensed production of this variant of Pantsir in the future. majid is good, but too short of range. Iran needs a system to fill the longer SHORAD to me.

The arash kamangir system is probably like this. I hope it has the detection range of the AESA equipped Pantsir.

By 2035 Iran will be able to build ANY type of weapons with the exception of a fighter aircraft and a nuclear submarine.

Iran should work with Russia on fighter aircraft technology and with North Korea on nuclear submarine technology.

The problem isn't that Iran can't develop the technology, it plainly can and it has been quite good at it. The question is can it manufacture these systems at scale and speed, can the military industrial complex step up a gear for manufacturing of radar based systems? Iran has solved this for its missile force, and It will need to do the same for IADS as well now, given it may have quite a few systems to replace. Manufacturing is always the challenge, not pure R&D.
