Iranian Air Defence Systems | News and Discussions

What does this have to do with Air Defence?

Sorry we don’t have a section called “Bunkers of the incompetent IR of Iran officials”.

So it fits in air defense because it’s a bunker that’s made to defend against air attacks.

They should upgrade the bavar 373. Its AESA radar probably has better protection against EW than the S400's PESA radar tbh.

The true numbers are higher .

A multi-static radar set up and a nationwide network of electro-optical systems would fix Iran's air defense issues.
Agree. As long as these radar systems are truly mobile. I have no information if obviously larger radar systems which are transportable, would be able to fill this role.

Nationwide distributed EO + systems would obviously be less at risk since these do not make their presence known by radiating energy.

Also, mini-awac's drones carrying radars aloft.

Furthermore, blimps carrying radar or passive sensors, or a combo of the same, aloft. These ideally should be untethered as to not stay in the same position for an extended period of time. I have just recently read about 'stealth' blimps, if these even exist.

Dunno about low orbit sats, but if practical the combination of multi-static, EO+ and low orbit sats should at the very least prevent the Iranian IADS system from being blinded from the get-go.

Well radars should be mobile but the recievers should be spread out and passive.

That is basicly the passive radar concept that has evolved to operational status. Recievers are passive and use the illumination of fm transmitter towers far from the frontline.
The transmitters cannot be hidden though they can be destroyed after they are detected by satellites or elint. but they can be replaced with less human and material cost if the transmitters are designed in a modular way like separate energy source etc. Medium size Fm transmitters can be folded- towed around by vehicles as well in my opinion.

These can be used as scanning radars. They cannot track and engage F35 type planes but at least give crude info for EO-IIR tracking systems which can and did engage and shot down several F35s before.

That leaves B2 type of larger stealth planes which can evade several meter wavelength radars. But maybe ionisation trail of these high flying planes which reflect back long wavelength radio signals which can be used to develop a scanning radar. Maybe quantum radar concepts or quantum magnetometry can be used as well.

IRGC could take out US Apache flying over the SOH if the order is given . I wonder what was used. Misagh III, 358 or 359 ?
