Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

"Its radar system is particularly impressive, as it can detect airborne aircraft from up to 350 kilometers away. If an enemy F-35 did detect it, one former NATO commander said that the F-35 would likely retreat, due to the Su-35’s super maneuverability. Its producer, Rostec, has claimed the jet has no angle-of-attack limits. It can also reach supersonic speed without the need of an afterburner. This likely contributed to the Su-35’s success against Ukraine’s S-300 missile launchers soon after Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022."

B*tch child-killing "Israel" can no longer threaten Iran. Let us hope enough numbers of SU-35 were delivered to Iran.

Again falling on a typical stupid click-bait YT-video :ROFLMAO: ... the point is, especially the PLAAF is NOT very impressed by the Su-35's radar and also what you get from the Ukraine scenario it is far away from being "particularly impressive"!

While I can understand your excepticism, what makes you think that Su35SE Irán will adcquire has same radar than Su35s purchased by China ten years ago?. We can assume some improvements have been implemented.

I have read about an interview where a Chinese aviation journalist said that the Su-35 has been made compatible with Chinese AEW aircraft. Do you know if this reporter and/or his claims are reliable?

Compared with 10 years ago, the gap becomes larger

I've never read that chinese assessment of the Su-35 till now, thanks for that. It only reinforces the fact that the Su-35 is an excellent fighter. Like any great power practices, the exported Su-35SE was likely downgraded, so the full spec russian version has more capable Irbis radar and ECM. It is not clear if China received the RVV-MD, SD and BD, so the full spec russian versions would be another step-up in capability over what China received. Note, the Su-35 is a bit older than the J-16, by about 5 years.

The Su-35 is absolutely dominant in Ukraine, the banderists are hiding from it like cockroaches including the much vaunted F-16s, and when they do get their noses out they get ripped to pieces either by the Su-35 or the MiG-31 and Su-30SM. The point being that the Su-35 will obliterate anything that is not the absolute latest (to my knowledge all israeli F-15 and F-16 have still MSA radars, no fancy AESAs there, and i don't think their AMRAAM models are the latest, presumably they are reserved for the F-35) and if against the very latest opponents it can still holds it's own very respectably. That is the true value of the Su-35, even in it's export form.

Middle East & Africa

Iran has confirmed its purchase of Russian-made Sukhoi-35 fighter jets, marking a significant development in its military capabilities and its relationship with Russia. This announcement was made by Ali Shadmani, a senior official of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), on January 27, 2025.The acquisition of these advanced fighter jets is part of Iran’s efforts to strengthen its military forces. Shadmani stated, “Whenever necessary, we make military purchases to strengthen our air, land, and naval forces”. This move comes amid growing concerns from Western countries about the deepening military collaboration between Tehran and Moscow.

No. They were offered in the 90’s after Soviet Union collapse, but traitor Rafsanjani didn’t buy them and instead went and bought tanks and less strategic weaponary.
He was being sarcastic. Suggesting Su35s are old and persians are poor.
