How many Yaks can we expect Iran to procure in this purchase/deal, practically speaking?

I would've hoped one of the initial order numbers of 68 jets with ToT as an ongoing venture. But with 48 units if true, how many trainers are justified?

No J-10C besides rumors

According to leaked order documents, Iran will receive 48 Su-35 between 2026 and 2028, there's no other way to know if Russia will deliver or scam Iran once again than waiting 2026

the way I see it:

it is only a question of, what can be mass produced faster, for IR:

1. hypersonic missiles
2. attack drones
3. AD missiles

OR

attack aircrafts.

It is not possible to maintain and have attack aircrafts for IR without giving up some autonomy, so they would go for 1,2 and 3

and would bank less on jets, for the time being

so, no deployable jets for 5 years more at least!

I’m going to say that was fake because if Netanyahu had said he will deliver weapons to Ukraine all off a sudden you would see 50 planes magically show up in Iran tomorrow I do believe he asked Putin to not send weapons though

From what I've seen, Khamenei is pro-Russian. Although he gave Russia drone projects to use against Ukraine, they don't receive the same kind of commitment, technology sharing, and military material assistance.

For example, just look at the DPRK and its military and technological evolution since it began delivering ammunition to the Russians. They now even build their own AWACS, not to mention nuclear submarines, destroyers, and naval cruise missiles.

If I were Khamenei, I would review all diplomacy with Russia and reconsider elevating China to an unlimited strategic partner, including providing air and naval bases in the country.

Specially after the 25 Billion Dollar Nuclear deal between Russia and Iran

• Yak Aircraft are additional planes which have been negotiated long time ago, acting as light fighter jet for training and ground operation

Attaining 40 J10C from China would make sense as well however no reports of such deal yet, third option, it is not clear why Iran does not closes deal with China. This is a bit of unknown factor


It was stated , iran has recovered all lost SAM anti air systems immediately after war ended

Russia has very few friends in the world, and Iran is one of them. Russia has not always been the best of friends(or has Iran) but Russia cannot afford to have Iran turned into a chaotic Syria. That would hurt Russian interests. Ukraine is manageable for Russia and given how many supplies the Americans supply to Israel, the idea that Israel has anything that can make a material difference to the Ukrainian war is an empty bluff..

With the JPCOA sanctions back on Iran, the opportunity window for procuring the J10CE is probably over. Russia will ignore the sanctions, but China i dont think will ignore UN sanctions.

Iran may be done a deal prior to any sanction with China



Nothing stops Iran from building 40 jets in China and sending their pilots to fly the 40 planes thru Central Asia or Over Afghanistan into Iran, no Export/Import involved

Just fly it over Armed

Similarly Iran can also upgrade their Commercial Airline with Russian or Chinese Passenger jets
