The problem is not the leader [of the air forece]. The problem is the IRGC ‘mafia’ that for years convinced the Supreme Leader and members of the security council that investing in “Shahi” Air Force was a waste of resources and that missiles could do what an Air Force could not.

Well we saw Iran’s waste 900 BMs (officially) and not disable or destroy a single Israel airfield or idle jets during the war. IRGC sucked up 70-80% of the yearly military budget and in the end could not adequately defend Iran’s vital interests.

The war was a blessing to breaking the IRGC monopoly on the armed forces doctrine, because quite frankly they severely under performed. Only the air defense branch performed more poorly.

Because IRIAF "officials" have zero understanding of what works in world and what not. They are incompetent to the core.

The new Commander Gen Ali Akbar Talebzadeh has been Coordinating Deputy Commander for a long time, under Hamid Vahedi so do not expect big changes.

Surprisingly, IRIAF has made no statement regarding new procurement while politicians are doing that.

Based on your assessment I will gladly accept your view of that even J-10C is better than Su-35 ! ( which i reject this statement ) and in a parallel universe which Russia green light this, I will offer you :

Dude, the main problem is not that Chinese fighter jets are not good or useless.

Iranian level of need and also the provided budget are two most important factors that the airforce is lagging in both fields.

Iran is not an Arab kinglet to float in oil dollars, we are sanctioned and a sanctioned country surrounded by US bases all around the country cannot count that much on airforce as a surviving force in case of a full blown war with the US led axis of evil in the region and beyond.

Israel is supported by latest technologies of western countries such as US, UK, France and Germany. The technological capabilities of G-7 is fully serving Zionists non stop.

Now imagine Iran pays for an expensive force like airforce billions of hardly earnt oil dollars. Fyi, no matter how advanced, no airforce can lonely stand up to French, American and British airforces over Syria, Iraq, Israel, Qatar, KSA and UAE.

Therefore the risk of throwing a huge amount of budget into the basket of airforce will cripple the country in a war against west.

In the recent conflict with Israel, 240 fighter jets from F-35 to French Rafales supported Israelis in the air. Don't forget that F-22s of USN are stationed at Arab countries.

The solution to western superiority in the air is not falling into the trap of arms race in airforce sector, but only to deny them their point of strength. China is a leading country in this field called A2/AD. In this strategy airforce is almost the last line of defense until the enemy is denied its point of strength.

So i don't expect Iran specifies a huge amount of money to importing fighter jets from Russia or China.

Independence from what? Arab countries are still Arabs, Muslims, follow their own culture, their citizens live in absolute delight compared to hard lives of Iranians due to Mullah policies. What independence are you talking about?
