Odd choice of Gripen since they also operate the JF17C which is in the same category. What is the driving force here ? A twin engine heavy would make more sense?

Political purchase, I personally think they will ask for NATO membership in the not so distant future.

It is understable. I agree both are in the same niche.
But most countries relies in two different combat aircraft suppliers; like India with Dassault, or even Egypt with their Dassault. Saudi Arabia ensures operativity of their air fleet with american suppliers and europeans ones.

Yeah I thought so to I didn’t even reply to it on the other thread they were talking about it honestly could easily be Israeli bombs as many as they dropped on those sites
 
Azerbaijan's severe shortcoming is just 3 open FABs with no exceptional or out of ordinary Air-Defence. They lack reliable integrated EW assets as well which they have been looking for some time. If need be (I hope not as an Azeri), IRGCASF can fire some 50-80 Fattah/KS hypersonic, Ghadr-F (exo/endo atmospheric MaRV) at each FAB to make sure no plane lands back or takes off. May be K-4 with submunitioned PBV. Meaningless news anyways but deterence is there.

Iran definitely got MiG29 from Russia recently, but which version and how man ? I dunno.....

Lets hope not, all of these will be destroyed by USAF/USN on ground. IRIAF should be rebuilt with underground bases like Oghab-44, after war situation is over.

Hmm.

I agree. Can't see the motivation of having J-17C *and* Gripen, at the same time either.
