Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

Integrate Su35 shape with advanced radars and missiles——then you got J-16!😉

Back on topic, I agree it’s only a waste of money to pursue Su35 since it’s useless facing Zionist F35. Keep developing UCAVs as you have been doing seems more rational giving the gap between IRIAF and IsraelAF. It’s unrealistic and economic to catch up in manned jet, so why not just focus on unmanned jet, which will be mainstream in foreseeable future, and I believe Iran can do it.

China imported Su35 a decade ago, and the contract had no ToT items——we could find few advantages from Su35 except its shape and 117s engine. Its still uses PESA radars which are far behind our ASEA radars, even though Russians claimed it had a 400km detecting range, but everyone knows it was meaningless as it cannot be used to guide missiles. And Russia refused our request to replace Russian avionics with our own, so we only bought 24 Su35, because we just want to improve our J11, J16 and J15 with Su35 as a model, and spare Russians some order to support them considering their help for our aircraft industry.

Time goes by and today Russia has made little progress on avionics technologies, just see the awful performance of Russian jets in Ukraine War. Yes it is true there are still some technologies Iran want to get from Su35 like R77(maybe not much better than your Phoenix on F14), shape design, but nothing more.

That is story of our Su35, and we will no longer buy any Russian jets, even engines. In fact, we got quite a number of technologies of Flanker from Ukraine who was way more generous than Russia in such aspects, today there are still many Ukrainian experts working in China, so please don’t expect much for Russian’s ToT my Iranian friends. Now you even cannot expect Russia to deliver whole Su35 in years since it has to fill their inventory first to prepare further war against Ukraine and Europe.

As I said above, Iran’d better to focus on developing U CAV-based asymmetric compatibility. It takes too much money and time to build a manned jet fleet able to counter F35s of Zionists and Uncle Sam, given the fact neither J10c, Jf17 nor even Su57 can do it. Su35 is not some game changer, and Russia is not likely to offer ToT or even sell them before Russo-Ukraine war ends.

So the conclusion is simple————JUST ALL-IN UNMANNED JET, since Iran is already good at drones.

J-10 is not a bad platform. Its a good investment but for who and against who?

We have latest versions of F-16, F-15 and F-35 in the hands of our enemies. Can J-10 defeat them in the air? Obviously not, when it comes to F-35 even their class of fighters is different.

Against India, its a suitable choice. Zero distance from the borders, weak and corrupt leadership of IAF that buys after bribes. India is just buying and buying and buying without thinking about the maintenance issues. And also Chinese avionics is superior to that of Israel. SU-30 of IAF is upgraded with Indian Package, guess the rest. Rafales were also defeated thanks to Professional personnel of PAF and Chinese avionics.

We know that we cannot take on USAF in the air in the near future hence investing in asymmetric warfare. Israel is a different stroy, it lacks strategic depth. So what we need most, is range and durability of a jet. A fighter jet that can protect our defense network against incoming low altitude projectiles.

We need a fighter in the class of SU-30 or 35. Or a local jet, even if inferior to its foreign counterparts, it can be reliable given its easy production, easy upgradation and cost effective maintenance.

Iran needs J10C for minimum deterrence, for example if the Usa/Israel is making threats to attack/bomb Iran, they will have to first deal with 4.5++ generation with long range bvr missile J10cs, these planes will be patrolling iranian airforce 24 7 to make sure so surprise attack takes place. If Usa/Israel does attack, we will witness airwarfare over Iranian skies, in neighbouring nations, on the ocean. Atleast Iran will not be sitting ducks for atleast a few days, by this time Iran should be fully ready to use full force.

The other scenario is Iran believing they will use SA missiles to destroy Israel Usa planes but end up getting bombed within a few hours.

Wow, this is continuing like the old forum, only worse. One bad analysis after another on the subject of IRIAF. The time is approaching when all your analyses will be pulverized. IRIAF has surprises in store, and this is 100% true. I hope the green light will be given quickly for strong announcements concerning IRIAF. They have some great cards up their sleeve, and it's so predictable.

well we hope so. There is not that much information available online about Iranian capabilities so the average laymen can only speculate. The fact that Iran is flying 50 year old Tomcats doesnt inspire much confidence either. Iran has shown it is very advanced in missiles and drones, and that is appreciated.

Iranian bros.

Why not build a force of SU-35 and J-10C now. (As well as all the support equipment)

And plan for J-35 later.

I don't think neglecting a whole branch of the military is smart.

On this forum, we should be flogging JF-17 to Iranian bros. Al-Bakistanis need to think about their interests and not those of foreigners all the time.

No , our primary goal is to secure our own sky against our potential adversary not to use fighter jets as offensive tools ( although we have hyper-sonic long range missiles which we can lunch from Su-24 and F4 )

If we can , we should go for buying J35 and or at least ToT of J10c or at worse , JF17 , we need to secure our own sky and border area against terrorist groups , so they are enough ....

We are sending our pilots to Pakistan for training , so adding JF-17 to our air force can be done quickly and it won't cost much ... JF-17 block 3 cost per unit is around 30 million dollars and with all the goodies it will cost at worst 40 millons dollars per unit ... with 5 billion dollars we can buy 125 unit ...

Im following Iran military events for more than 15 years , I read this kind of claims so many times , in the end IRI only unveiling refurbished F5 with new name and nothing more ...

The problem lies within your thought Process.
Guess what Pakistan has heavily invested in its air force through out its 70 years of existence.
Now we have a solid force that can easily transition to next generation technologies and with its war experience can get best out of that technology.
With J10C & JF-17 B3 ,we have decent punch but once J-35 joins the PAF, Pakistan will have the air prowess second only to China & the US.

If You start investing in IRIAF today buying it J10C, it will be ready for J-35 in its 30s.
With close military collaboration with China, IRIAF can become as Powerful as IsAF.
It can alone give a bloody nose to IsAF and can take the battle to enemy door steps.

The problem with the IRIAF is that the Islamic regime still holds a grudge against the IRIAF. Every nonsense they spew is clearly and visibly bullshit. And it was proven beyond doubt in the recent Israeli attack on Tehran. If we had a decent air force, Israel wouldn't have been able to easily fly over the Iraqi airspace and target our radars and missile sites with peace of mind.

The IIAF (Imperial Iranian Air Force), changed to IRIAF after the revolution, used to be the most pro-West and secular force of the Iranian Army.
Before the war, the IRIAF staged a failed coup against the newly established regime in Iran. They had planned to bomb Ayatollah Khomeini's house. The plan failed, either because the Americans exposed the coup to get rid of our air force commanders and weaken Iran before giving Saddam the green light, or per official stories, because one of the pilots talked to his mom and his mom advised him to expose the plan to the officials. The Ayatollahs seem not to have forgotten that yet.

Nevertheless, even if our enemies have tens of thousands of F35s (they don't, but even if they did), nothing justifies the complete disregard of the IRIAF since the Iraq-Iran war. We now have the weakest air force in the region. Second only to the likes of Afghanistan (with no fighter jets) or Turkmenistan and Armenia. The fact that they do nothing for the IRIAF, even though a child understands that Russians will never deliver Su-35 to Iran (and even if they do, it won't be more than a few airframes), speaks volumes about their view towards the IRIAF, i.e. the force that saved Iran during the Iraq-Iran war.

I don't think it's just a matter of buying and selling airplanes, but rather the Middle East, Iran, and Israel. Israel can tolerate other countries buying Chinese fighter jets, but it cannot tolerate Iran because Iran is a country in the Middle East that can truly pose a threat to Israel. Iran can buy Russian fighter jets because Israel knows it will not pose a threat to it, and Iran's missiles are already quite powerful. If the air force grows stronger, this is absolutely unacceptable to Israel, and the United States behind it cannot accept it either. The United States will take various actions against us economically. So, until the situation completely changes. All kinds of ideas are just ideas.

J-10C GaN 1300T/R
Rafale RBE 838 T/R
J-10C's radar Longer range and lower noise due to GaN.
Tilted antenna, Lower Frontal RCS on J-10C. RBE not tilted.
U don't lose 5 jets to an inferior enemy jet while u urself getting zero kills
J10C works

I believe it was not rafale that lost to j10c it was pl15 that win the day

I believe it was not rafale that lost to j10c it was pl15 that win the day
but the downing is assigned to the missile or the pilot!,

usually to the Pilot who then puts the winning sign on the aircraft he uses

15 years to come up with such stupidity? Poor you, you wasted a lot of time not understanding much. The day will come, you'll all lose face, and don't tell me we couldn't have foreseen this. Unlike you, the IRIAF has no time and is very active behind the scenes.

There are refurbishments, but also 100% manufactured aircraft.
