It actually is. The khat e pahlavi is kind of Aramaic script and lingua franca was Aramaic in the near east for a long time before and after Achaemenid empire. I'm not saying Old Persian and Parsig were obsolete but to dismiss semetic languages in Iranian history outright is also nothing short of dishonesty.
