Well, considering A10 are not in production, the low avaliability in spare parts and the raising cost operation flying hour, if Irán just launch 1000 of them of the basic edition (just a inertial and radio-altimeter) they will deplete USAF budget in just one or two weeks.

Its not so much about the system weapons vs the support you receive from the super power. Weapons sale is one part of the sweetener, the rest is the political and military support. Look at every country allied to them, with the exception of two that went off their alliance ie Iran and Pakistan. Every other country developed their economies while the US military defended or supported them ie Japan, Skorea, Israel, Saudis, UAE, Europe after WW2, Qatar etc. Iran and Pakistan to became more interdependent (won't beat a dead horse on why), and had to deal now with military and economic issues. Turkey since 2010s has also become more independent hence their economy is also suffering.
