Israel claims to have destroyed half of Hezbollah's stockpile of medium and long range missiles during today's strikes. also claimed to destroy "hundreds" of cruise missiles and "dozens of thousands" of rockets.

Huge Israeli airstrikes across south Lebanon and Beqaa and elsewhere escalate in full force today, killing more than 350 people and wounding another 1200+. the scale of these losses is unprecedented. and Hezbollah's responses have been very weak and have not done any noticeable damage.

Israel carried out assassination attempt against Ali Karaki (currently most senior Hezbollah military commander) in south Beirut, thankfully the attempt failed with the 3 missiles failing to explode... Hezbollah released a statement saying Karaki is fine and has been moved to a safe place

these commanders need to be based in fortified tunnels until this war is over. Sinwar in tiny Gaza has outlived most of these top Hezbollah commanders

Hezbollah is heavily infiltrated. OTOH: IDF claimed this missile has a 1000kg warhead. which is a ludicrous claim.

The price of a weak economy and low value currency like in Iran and Lebanon. If you throw enough dollars or euros around you will find somebody willing to do what you need them to do. CIA/Mossad successes boil down to having satellites and money.

this is total war. Nasrallah thought he could impose ROE and manage isolated incidents one at a time. But Israel blew up his rulebook and Nasrallah doesn't have an answer. Hezbollah still holding back its larger weapons. by the time he decides to use them Israel will have blown most of them up.... total war waits for nobody.

basic measures for Hezbollah:

- avoid in-person meetings of commanders in groups of more than 2-4. if they must happen, do it underground in tunnel networks.

- avoid top commanders having any presence in major cities. they need to be based in fortified underground tunnel networks, only coming out when absolutely necessary. avoid giving the enemy easy victories.

- if rockets are based in soft locations, consider firing them ASAP. at least draw from these inventories first going forward as they are the least survivable. use it or lose it.

- give each local unit more autonomy. communication and command structure may be degraded as the war goes on so each unit cannot be overly reliant on central command.

- use new forms of attack that the enemy does not expect. mass UAV attack against floating gas rigs. mass cruise missile and drone attack against navy patrol boats. with some luck, one missile against a defenceless patrol boat can do more damage than 100 unguided rockets to Haifa.

- do not expect long gaps in the fighting. avoid complex plans. keep things simple and consistent.

- current exchanges heavily favour Israel. do not give Israel time to degrade your capabilities before launching inevitable ground operation. force Israel to make this move sooner by escalating with major missile operations against Haifa and Tel Aviv every day. make them fight to your timeline for once.

eyewitness sources claim the Israeli bombs didn't explode. and Hezbollah's statement said Karaki was then moved to a safe place, implying he was present at the site of the assassination attempt.
