Iran has strategically positioned itself as a key player in the geopolitical landscape, particularly in the context of the Ukraine-Russia conflict. By creating an effective barrier between the United States and Russia, Iran has caused a significant shift in the dynamics of the media narrative. This maneuver has redirected global attention towards the longstanding Israel-Palestine issue, thereby reducing the perceived significance of the Ukraine-Russia war on the international stage and allowing Russia to gain a favorable advantage.
Simultaneously, Iran has has achieved a strategic approach by supporting and backing Houthis in Yemen (Blockade in Red Sea against Israel), Hezbollah in Lebanon and not but the least Hamas in Israel which has compelled the United States and its allies to be more engaged and allocate additional resources and attention to the Middle East rather than the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Previously we had seen, NATO , US , EU openly supported Ukraine, sending weapons, missiles, air defense systems, also have planned to send Polish F16s to Ukraine, But now U.S and its allies have become a football between middle east and Russia backed by the support of Iran to various groups against U.S's partner in crime Israel.
In essence, Iran is achieving strategic objectives by both benefiting Russia and diverting attention away from the Ukraine crisis. This, in turn, increases the strategic importance of the Middle East in the broader geopolitical landscape.
Moreover, it is to be mentioned that Russia is the one who is standing out in a most advantageous position by Iran's ongoing conflict against Israel and the West.
