Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

Because contrary to popular belief China doesn’t do much for Iran particularly in field of military arms relations. Iran and China don’t have significant military relations.

Also I doubt Chinese have any need for JAASM. Something like this is well within China’s technological capability to build on their own. They don’t need to see a U.S. copy.
Iran doesnt need China in the field of military arms relations.

Iran has a developed defense industry (hope most of it survived recent US bombing campaign).

Tell me what else Iran needs from China or Russia, except for fighter aircraft?

Instead of spending dollars and buying expensive Russian and Chinese weapons, Iran should subsidise its own defense industry.

China needs to study feature of JAASM to be prepared for a sudden attack.

They need to know how to defend against it. It will be a god sent gift to Chinese airdefense scientists.

Its true that they have their own version of stand off weapons but its important to be ready for American attacks.

Iran is not an industrial military power, can it really make systems at scale, or speed for all of what you have listed? No country can except China, Russia(but not right now) or the USA.

Is the Iranian IADS in such trouble because it focused solely on home grown solutions that have not proven to be effective against fighter jets or large platforms? What will the procurement cycle be for Iran now post war ? Double down on "make it all at home" or actually try and procure top-tier systems overseas to compliment its own home grown solutions where they don't have the maturity or capability?

Under the circumstances too true.

I agree with your last sentiment. But there's also a but in there.

While I have no doubt, as Iran has demonstrated with its missiles in particular, it can develop decent kit. However, development, IOC and FOC does not go hand in hand.

Anything can meanwhile happen in the current stand-off.

This will be a short-term stand-off at best, so I doubt whether Iran will actually be afforded that 5 - 8 yrs buffer.

Iran needs combat a/c (SU-35; MiG-35 and Yak-130M CAS and perimeter defense, and later Kowsars) as soon as is humanly possible. Same goes for LR-SAMS & supporting mobile radar systems, and a hardened, fully integrated, IADS.

Are the Sayyad-4 & 4B still serious propositions?

Artesh is likely able to repel a full-scale invasion long enough to turn it into an expensive soul-sapping meat-grinder, such as was the case with North Korean in the 50's. They do however need to be supplied with substantial quantities of MANPADS.

Regarding naval affairs. Please stay away from major surface combatants, nothing bigger than say Sina-class FAC's for enforcement duties in the SOH, and brown and blue-water subs for projecting a two-prong threat envelope.

Lastly: - Sourush 1 & 2. Prioritize these. Nothing changes foreign politicians' minds faster than plummeting pole numbers amongst their constituents. I will leave the details of this to you and other members reading this.

Regards

Piet
