Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

17 missiles AND rockets.

So how many were actually missiles and the rest cheap GRAD rockets?

Patriot didn’t intercept 17 BMs, that’s just US trying to save face by making it seem like all 17 were BMs. Highly unlikely that Iraqi miltias have the capability to launch 17 BMs at once. Even when Iran attack Al-Assad it didn’t use 17 BMs and it has both the capability and vast arsenal to fire dozens of missiles simultaneously.

If I had to guess 2-3 BMs were used and those were likely the ones that go thru while the rockets following rudimentary trajectory were intercepted.

Hardly a successful showing as 15 Patriot missiles cost $4M a pop ($60M total) and are in short supply between the Red Sea defensive, Israel, and Ukraine.

the US fired 15 Patriot interceptors at those 17 rockets and SRBMs ... how much does each Patriot PAC-3 interceptor cost ?

$4M roughly each

Selected IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] personnel will be trained on the latest Russian upgrades of several short- and long-range missiles - the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, the Iskander M, the RS-26 Rubezh, the BrahMos3, and the Avangard - before the plan to manufacture them under licence in Iran begins, with the aim being to have 30 percent of them stay in Iran, with the rest being sent back to Russia,” he said.

Why the heck Iran would need BMs and ICBMs when it already has all? Everything but what is needed beside BrahMos3

And take it with a grain of salt considering its not sourced

Well, I did say if true….

RS-26 Rubezh Demonstrated range 5800 Km
Qaem-105 based ICBM would easily reach 12000km with nuclear warhead

The only useful in the list are BrahMos or maybe Avanguard, the rest Iran can make it himself, our BMs are on par even better than Iskander

Iran needs aircrafts not foreign IRBMs and theater BMs

We're not Saudi Arabia buying DF-3 and doing nothing

The reality is that Houthi and Iranian militias attacks have been almost completely ineffective against the US military.

It’s not a coincidence that after the US attacked the Houthis, that their volume of attacks have dropped off considerably.

F22 is an ineffectual toy.

Avangard?

0.00% chance Russia is going to have its 27x speed of sound nuclear designed HGV for its ICBM and the basis of its future nuclear deterrence troika, be built in Iran and the knowledge of the inner workings be in the hands of another country. That is a national security matter.

I doubt either entity is trying to kill US soldiers. Even the attacks on commercial shipping is at best harassment attacks since they seem to lack warheads or explosive yield. Makes sense since the goal is to harass ships not make a ecological disaster and graveyard in the Red Sea.

Killing US soldiers (sailors) will bring a much more greater response then merely having them expend resources and time while global tanker insurance rates continues to climb and ships avoid the Red Sea or put “NO ISRAEL” on their transponders to not get targeted or run with Chinese flags.

Fact of matter is Iraqi miltias making US spend $60M dollars of a precious in demand weapon (interceptor) to stop a wave of missiles costing less than $2M is a win-win. Any damage (or deaths) is just secondary. All around the world US is bleeding money against lower cost opponent. Contrary to public belief the money tree is not infinite in nature. You will see in the coming decade the ramifications of reckless US spending both on its military and to fund its empire.

It’s not a coincidence that after the US attacked the Houthis, that their volume of attacks have dropped off considerably.

They literally just target a US military cargo vessel within last 24 hours and multiple ships with the last week.

Not sure what you are seeing out there

I dont entirely disagree with that. Why havent they been able to hit any warships with those cruise missiles? even Ukraine managed to do so
