Mohsen Mansouri, Executive Assistant to the Iranian President, said that rescue teams continue to search for the president’s plane up to two kilometers from the accident area.

Mansouri added in an interview with the Iranian “Tasnim” agency: “We communicated several times with one of the helicopter crews after the accident, and we are continuing to search up to two kilometers from the area of the accident, and I hope that good news will reach the citizens as soon as possible.”

He pointed out that communication with the helicopter was cut off at one-thirty, after which communication was made several times with one of the helicopter’s passengers and a member of its crew.

Mansouri confirmed that all cadres were mobilized to work seriously to search for the helicopter, but the weather and road conditions in the area were difficult. He added: “We hope to get good news from the rescue teams and operations will continue until we reach the helicopter.”

Iranian media reported on Sunday evening that the helicopter of President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation had a “hard landing” accident in East Azarbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.

if I had $1 every time I heard this, I would retire tomorrow

so far we only know something was spotted by Turkey and Iran sent some teams to those coordinates to investigate

nothing more is confirmed

I am curious about today's timeline. Did the Iranian officials ask for Turkish assistance immediately after the loss of contact or did they waste precious time trying to figure out the location of the crash site on their own?

But how could the crashed helicopter still lit up after more than ten hours with monster rain?
I don't think it's lit up. The camera has cooled MCT sensors. It can detect very low contrasts in temperature. Even if a few degrees difference between the environment and crash site should trigger the sensors to color the multispectral image of the operator UI.
