Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

Crash site looks to have been located.

E: Never mind, Flightradar was showing me incorrect predicted flightpath

It's searching at a wider area. The helicopter pilot may have lost his way in the storm.

seems to be returning to Tabriz.

what is the flight endurance of Akinci and what are the specs of its sensors?

@lacy
It can stay aloft over 24 hours. I do not know the EO on this particular AKINCI. It could be Wescam MX-25D or ASELFLIR-500. I'm assuming they're using superimposed images to locate the crash site from SWIR and MWIR sensors on the camera because of the fog, clouds and night conditions.

Why did it go to Tabriz? It wanted to land at Tabriz airport, but then their opinion changed?

There are designated air lanes. You cannot just go flying anyway you want. Likely checked in with Tabriz ATC and was provided with instrument guidance

impressive, hopefully it can do what iranian drones could not

85,000 people watching it now

It's definitely searching for the president otherwise it has no other mission. I believe they are thinking the pilot may have lost his way.
Anyways there are no way they would stay 10 hours at the crash site with massive rain and fog

They maybe stood in a cave or searched for a safe spot

Since Turkiye is helping, why not send several drones. Its not like Turkiye is short of them lol. And we all know Turkish drones are top quality too.

Raisi is 63
Abdollahian is 60
the Imam guy is 62

the governor of Tabriz seems slightly younger, maybe in his 40s

I don't know how long these guys could survive, especially if they are injured

Guess the Iranian drones have their invincibility cloaks on.

Sarcasm aside, that means they aren’t MALE level drones and could be Yasir (Scaneagle with SAR) or other smaller launched drones that don’t need a transponder.

I find it hard to believe Iran would have a bunch of drones flying around with no transponder
