Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

@gambit

Iran has RF-4 (recon F-4’s) could they not have used the [upgraded] cameras on these planes to do flybys to find the wreckage in the mins to a few hours after the crash?

No we need implement our latest achievement in our equipment and stop thinking everything must be done cheap
cheap is often most expensive, it should not be matter of price in civilian area, standards and norms widely accepted should be rule no1.

the number of lies told to the Iranian people during this incident was staggering. a major inquest must be launched with severe consequences for the embarrassment and incompetence displayed across multiple branches.

first it was just a "hard landing"

then the President continued by car

then they made contact with someone from the plane twice who heard ambulances and was hurt but alive

then they received a signal from the helicopter

then multiple claims of having detected the location of the helicopter

...

and in the end after 12 hours of lies and incompetence (where they still had no idea where the helicopter might be), a Turkish drone came and found the site for us in 2 hours

You want the people who wouldn’t admit a quadcopter hit their S-300 radar to admit they lost the President?

This whole last 24 hours played out like some B rated movie plot.

Sure, you can make Israel the suspect in everything and anything bad happened in Iran, even BEFORE the technical investigation of this mishap.

Heavy fog? It must be Jewish weather control satellites.

Poor mission planning? There must be a Zionist spy inside the Iranian Air Force.

And on and on. It will never end and anyone who conclude that it must have been a technical cause or pilot error will be cowed into silence.
Well USA and Israel do have previous form like bombing the crap out of Iraq because Saddam had a stockpile of WMD.
Replacing governments with those that appease the west. Not forgetting butchering Gaddaffi. Funny how all western sources this morning call the Iranian leadership - “regime” - yet never say similar to governments that kill 40,000 innocent Palestinians. The duplicity is pathetic IMO
Having said that - we ought to wait for a full investigation as I believe the weather was horrendous tbf.

These people should not be able to get away with it, they spread lies all night along, and add those who allowed the helicopter to travel in this bad weather condition, they must be held accountable and changes must be made to ensure strict safety protocols are followed in the future. It should not be acceptable that Iran President and FM were missing for 15+ hours and noone had a clue, 3 helicopters flew and 2 reached their location but President and FM helicopter went missing? Where was his security, the people who track his movement, give the go ahead for the flight. Accountability is a must.

wake up call and opportunity for objective and humbling approach when making insight observation trough SWOT method with pinch of chinese prescription for corruption and incompetence.

Iran has been loosing so many of their top high profile officials and generals, they need to value their leadership little more, this is such a loss

I have news for you. The system is designed in a way that people can get away with any bull$hit.

Infact, the system lives and thrives on exactly these things.

I can understand, Pakistan is just up there. We lost a military general, with all his top lieutenants, including head of secret services, took the usa ambassador with them too, no real investigation was ever done, wreckage was removed quickly and the general son claims it was sabotage. But I heard they made one change, the top generals are not authorised to travel together. If President Raisi had professional personel security who follow protocol, they would have stopped him from travelling in bad weather, his movement tracked so they know exactly where he is.

without the Turkish drone we would probably still be looking for the helicopter

The real advantage is that an UAV can simultaneously
Ability to fly in harsh weather conditions
Ability to stay in the air for long periods of time
It is both fast
It also has a defrosting system
Can be controlled both from satellite (no range limit)
It has good cameras and sensors

Iran lost very critical times for 12 hours
AKINCI UAV would find the Helicopter 10 hours earlier

So sad , President Raisi and his foreign minister lost their lives

President Raisi seems to have been betrayed from within, just like in 2009, when the USA backed FETO organization killed the leader of the Turkish political Party MUHSIN YAZICIOGLU under the guise of a Helicopter crash

first it was just a "hard landing"

then they made contact with someone from the plane twice who heard ambulances and was hurt but alive

Who ever put mokhber monkey into position that he can become president needs to be ashamed of himself , this monkey should not become president. He is not worth the role of interim president , did huge damage to Sina Bank.

The issue is the area was High elevation and mountainous highly rural.

Iran’s drones require ground stations to broadcast the signal or radio controlled because they lack access to Satcom like Turkey or NATO or even China/Russia. Mountains are terrible places were signals scatter and get lost for ground station controlled drones.

Some Iranians drones can connect to Satcom for things like navigation and minor data transfer, but I doubt large transfer of datalink upload, which is what you need to transmit high quality live video feed back to the operator.

That is my theory why none of Iran’s big drones (Gaza, Fotros, Kaman-22, etc) were deployed. Who knows maybe they were, but the issue will be sending signal to the drone when it is flying low over a rural mountain range being blocked by land masses.
