if achieved, ISA will be significantly ahead of IRGC, which will likely not achieve a capability like this until Qaem-120

They will def need more funding to get this off the ground.

1.5 tons to LEO is fairly impressive given the restrictions on country like Iran. An American space company hopes to take 3 tons to LEO by 2026/2027 with their launcher.

So while Iran isn’t competing with newer private American space startups, it’s a good to see such a large payload.

Weather this ever materializes before 2030 is the unfortunate pessimistic question.

My bad! I misread the headline. It's just the project launched. I got so exited that I didn't read the article properly. Almost gave myself a stroke 😩😩😩

let first go to GEO

GEO? Let’s first launch to LEO at least once a month. Until Iran does at least 12 LEO launches a year, this space program is severely underperforming .

17 year space program and we still can’t launch frequently.

Iran and North Korea have been working together on the RD-250 engine and it is likely what Iran tested at the Khojr test stand in May-June 2022

this is by far the most important news released today. RD-250 class engines revolutionises Iran's space program and missile program. heavy ICBMs are within reach (just missing the correct payload...)

Optimised Simorgh (Simorgh-2) will attempt to launch a payload into a much higher orbit than before (GTO) for the first time in the coming days

IRGC's Qiam-105A is also due to have its first test launch this Iranian year (by March 20th)
