Nahid 2 Satellite Awaiting Launch [by August 2025]​


The head of the Iranian Space Research Institute recently announced that the Nahid 2 satellite is awaiting launch, adding that the Pars 2 satellite will also be placed in the launch queue soon, and the construction of the "Pazhoohesh" satellite series has begun.

Telecommunication Missions of Nahid 2 Satellite:

Primary Strategic Goals:
  • Orbital transfer using chemical propulsion for the first time in Iran
  • Application of attitude torque using warm gas propulsion for the first time in Iran
  • Achieving an operational life of 2 years in space and testing satellite platform subsystems for proper functioning
  • GPS-independent radio positioning with the ability to extract TLE
  • Tracking and controlling the positioning of a maneuvering space mission
  • Improving pointing accuracy to 1 to 3 degrees

Secondary Strategic Goals:
  • Store & Forward telecommunication with support for 254 users with a complex and novel protocol
  • Simultaneous telephone communication testing by satellite in the KU link
  • Radiation measurement (dosimetry)
  • Establishing secure communication between tracking devices and the mission control center

Iran to launch multiple satellites, develop space capsules​


Hassan Salarieh, head of Iran’s Space Agency and Deputy ICT Minister, confirmed that the country will carry out a series of domestic and international satellite launches in the Persian calendar year 1404 (2025–2026), including launches of Simorgh and Optimized Simorgh satellites and Zoljanah and Qaem 100 launch vehicles.

He revealed that while satellites Zafar and Paya were scheduled for 1403, their launches were delayed and are now rescheduled for 1404.

Salarieh also said that both test and operational launches for the Martyr Soleimani Satellite Constellation are planned in 1404 and 1405. The Nahid-2 satellite is also expected to launch in 1404 [by March 2026] using both domestic and international launch vehicles, according to him.

He also said that the first of the 3 phases of the Chabahar Space Base, a key national infrastructure project, is expected to be completed in 1405 [by March 2027].

Moreover, Salarieh noted that Iran is currently designing advanced biological capsules weighing 500 kg and 1,500 kg. The larger capsule is being built to carry a human into space.

He added that Iran is also building a class one-ton satellite laboratory, with 60% of its physical infrastructure already completed.

The “Pars 2” satellite, with an impressive 2-meter imaging resolution, is set to be unveiled during the Fajr decade. Additionally, the “Pars 3” satellite, currently under development by the Iranian Space Research Center, will also feature 2-meter resolution. The “Kosar” satellite, launched recently, provides 4-meter resolution imaging, marking a significant leap in Iran’s satellite technology.

We still haven't demonstrated the maximum payload capacity of Simorgh (250kg to 500km orbit) after 15 years. It was unveiled in 2010.

Simorgh was revealed during Ahmadinejad's time IIRC but its first (test) launch was in 2016

the latest launch supposedly put 300kg into 400km orbit if you include the space tug though clearly the rocket did not perform as expected for many years so they had to make a lot of changes

Zoljanah is another mystery. Random solid fuel rocket that they launched once or twice then never spoke about again once Simorgh started to work

even the IRGC is behind schedule, the Qaem-105A was supposed to have its first test launch by March

do you think Pezeshkian is stopping IRGC from launching satellites ?
 
Isn’t the general who talks about the IRGC space program dead from war? (Not Hajizadeh the younger one).

I doubt the space program is going to get any attention as Iran has to quickly rebuild its military for a possible round 2 in the next 2-3 years

BG Ali Jafarabadi (50 years old) is the commander of the IRGC Space Command (since it was established in 2017) and he's still alive

strange considering Qased already successfully placed 3 satellites into orbit and IRGC had moved onto Qaem-100

If USA tries to touch Bushehr NPP, IRGC has to bomb US installations in Pantex Plant in Texas or the Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee. That would be a good answer.

Other nuclear facilities namely Frdow, Natanz and Isfahan were empty and out of service anyways. USA's move was for show.

Next time, we have to be prepared and ready for an answer that could threaten US existence as they would do same to us.
