Ababil-5 is the flagship of Ababil drones generation. All of its components are upgraded and improved compared to the previous generations and in fact the 5th version is a representative of years of R&D in this one drone called Ababil.
"Ababil-5" UAV is a multi-purpose unmanned aircraft capable of carrying out combat missions, reconnaissance, surveillance, information gathering and electronic warfare, manufactured by the Air Industries of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support.
This unmanned aerial vehicle is capable of carrying multi-purpose night vision electrooptic platforms, signal information gathering payloads, and radar payloads. The maximum speed of "Ababil-5" UAV is 210 km/h.
The flight duration of this UAV with cargo is 12 hours and its flight ceiling is estimated at 18,000 feet. The operational radius of this drone is 300 km. Of course, this drone showed that it will be able to carry out reconnaissance operations within 24 hours, which is similar to what happened in the second joint military drone exercise.
After completing its mission, the UAV "Ababil-5" is capable of carrying a load of 120 kg including smart bombs of the Qaem family and missiles of the Almas family. It has a radar and is difficult to detect.
"Ababil-5" UAV can carry 6 high-explosive warheads and fire at targets if needed.
