Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

I think the whole Idea of Pakistan pressing towards regional defence pact is that if Pakistani forces are present in GCC countries, beginning with Saudia, then Iran is less likely to target them.

Iran targeted the GCC nations because they actively have US bases and those provided tactical and theater level support to carry out attacks on Iran.

If Pakistan comes in, and Pakistan has good relations with Iran, at least the GCC nations don't feel threatened by Iran. US will have to find another way to stage a war.

Turkey will be involved because Turkey of all nations in this region is the most capable one to provide high tech weapons alternate to western weapons. Plus through Pakistan, China will be able to easily supplant its role by providing advanced weapons.

GCC countries ain't getting 5th gen jets anytime soon and with what pissraelis did to Qataris and their ego, China can lead the race to supply 5th Gen jets to GCC.

Money is no issue.

I think we are seeing the end of traditional middle east and the eventual exit of US. Very similar and not so surprising as to what happened with the British and French influence in the aftermath of WW II, east of Suez.

See? Ignore Indians for long enough and they do attention seeking things. All too predictable.

Why is this Al Jazeera headline screaming of butthurt though?
The GCC won't be entirely happy if Pakistan gets its act together and starts to realize its potential. They would prefer a poor and compliant Pakistan they can exploit. People forget that Dubai and Emirates grew at the expense of Karachi and PIA.

Possibly but we only have ourselves to blame, noone can stop us if everyone realises we need to work hard, fix ourselves and Pakistan, compete with the world, be loyal to your country but instead we sell out over dollars, play dirty politics with each other, people dont understand how Pakistan works, people get jealous and start to work against each other, they bring the competence and honest people down whilst the dacoits overtake everything, the safarishi then sell everything for some property in foreign nations.

They don't have the missiles or right aircraft for it. One of the cons of having a toy military with the primary purpose of parades

Their pilots can't fly the way USAF or IAF does. They will get shot down. They are also well under the range of Iranian missiles and shaheds. It'll be a total shitshow for them.

india and its people thought and still think the same for Pakistan.

It will be a total shitshow (more for iranians) in the region, I do not understand how conveniently you keep missing that? The best outcome for Iranians right now is removal of sanctions. No sane could be okay with getting their people killed unnecessarily.

What is the Iranian side waiting for? Even I am getting frustrated. I mean do they really think they would be ok if the US and Israel bomb them back to the stone age, literally? No Electricity, no Water, No Infrastructure etc.

The best they can hope for is attack on other GCC countries which would eventually invite the wrath of the GCC too; thousands of additional attacks on Iran. Hundreds of thousands of deaths directly and many many more through famine, starvation, sickness, air pollution etc. And the Strait of Hurmuz will eventually get reopened one way or the other. Even if that eventually means boots on the ground. Through sustained bombing campaigns and blockout of communication, US boots on the ground will eventually succeed in protection of the Strait.

Under the current circumstances, the best Iran can get is lifting of the sanctions so that Iran is no longer under threat from any country, it's assets are no longer locked outside, it’s trade is no longer banned and it can sell its oil and gas freely. No longer a pariah state basically.

Iran may also be facing 'leaderlessness" - nobody can make a decision for the whole nation. That type of stasis also occurs in corporations where the company withers away because there is no effective leader.

I have not seen anything that suggests any leaderlessness… other than the muttering of the orange idiot, no one else is suggesting this either.

Fuel prices through the roof. CD70 zindabad!
At the same time, China's National Development and Reform Commission announced:

Effective from 24:00 on April 21, 2026, the prices of gasoline and diesel in China will be reduced by RMB 555 and RMB 530 per ton, respectively.

Not only did the price not go up, but it actually went down......
