Can I just say I have never seen so many articles about deaths in Gaza in the past weeks than I have seen in the last 48 hours because a couple of “foreigners” perished in tragic circumstances.

Clearly some blood is cheap!

Meanwhile Palestinians will be starving and dying today especially children. Will be struggling to get a grave and funeral. My heart is exploding with this.......

There is another way to interpret this: these deaths give conscientious Western media and politicians the public outrage cover they need to criticize Israel -- something they cannot do when Israel 'just' kills Palestinians.

Belgian FM says country open to Palestinian statehood​

Belgium’s Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib says the country will consider recognising Palestinian statehood “when the moment comes”.

Speaking at a NATO summit, Lahbib also expressed concern about the international response to the Gaza war, saying the UN Security Council Resolution calling for an “immediate ceasefire” last month has been shown to be toothless.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the resolution “must be implemented without delay”.
